**Occupational Health & Safety Specialist**:

You will be working as Health Safety and Environment Specialist and will be the part of Electrification business area for Services division based in Longmeadow, South Africa. In this role you will be reporting to Ziyanda Gova and will be responsible for ABB’s core values of safety and integrity, which means taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues and the business

**Your responsibilities**:

- Reporting HSE incidents and feedback on lessons learned and best practices from own business unit and across ABB to management and employees, implementing policies and standards and ensuring area of responsibility is audited according to the audit schedule
- Assisting line managers, site managers, site supervisors and project managers in understanding obligations, liability and to fulfill their roles, according to Local HSE law and ABB group policy, instructions and standards
- Facilitating HSE risk assessments by line management involving shop floor employees, those directly concerned by the hazards and ensuring all processes are implemented and ensuring appropriate safety equipment, tools and PPE are available and used
- Driving behavioral change through implementing improvement programs and practicing locally to ensure an exemplary H&S culture as well as a strong focus on the environment and assisting ABB organization in the Group Management System (ISO 14001 and ISO 45001)
- Engaging external customers, suppliers and other stakeholders and internal stakeholders, in order to report on, raise awareness and gaining commitment on ABB’s HSE efforts and performance and obtaining objective feedback
- Contributing and executing HSE, Sustainability and Corporate Responsibility (CR) related projects and developing and reporting on project objectives

**Your background**:

- Bachelor’s Degree
- National Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Safety or Environmental Management Must and SACPCMP- CHSO/CHSM- Must
- Minimum 2 years of HSE experience,
- Fluency in English language is mandatory
