Eclipse Communications - an award-winning, national communications agency - is looking for a video editor and animator.
Most importantly, your demo reel will display a vast variety of memorable work across various big brands.
For this mid to senior position, we are looking for a versatile animator/editor with 5-7 years of experience in the motion graphics field and video editing.
You can produce drop-dead gorgeous animations, illustrations and designs, even under skinny jeans-tight deadlines.
After effects, Adobe Premiere, Photoshop and Illustrator skills are a must.
In addition to producing awesome motion graphics, you can also create style frames in a wide variety of styles from concept to execution.
When it comes to animating graphics, you know how to get the principal details right, or break ’em for artistic effect.
You can advise the production team on how to shoot videos to facilitate efficient adaptation.
Next to animation and editing, you also know a little about colour grading and sound design to enhance edits for client reviews.
Next to the language of motion, you can make yourself clear in English too.
However, the job’s not only about technical artistry. To excel in this role, you have to be a team player skilled in communicating problems and progress, as well as being practiced in working together with juniors and seniors alike.
You must have a multidisciplinary set of skills across the creative process, such as storyboarding, scripting, character design, illustration and even sound design/audio mixing.

**Requirements**:
Proven problem-solving, analytical, and creative skills
Ability to display complex concepts in simple, intuitive formats
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
Comfortable with following creative briefs and supporting storyboards
Ability to manage multiple projects with quick turnaround time
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and adapting to a wide variety of assignments and priorities
Being able to collaborate and encompass strong communication skills
An ear for music and its influence on human emotions
Comprehensive understanding of AE, high dynamic range source material, working in 2D and 3D space and the utilization of multiple render passes
Ability to work with a variety of source material including film, video, CG and digital assets to create a cohesive image
A detailed “eye” for photo-real colour, composition, lighting and movement
General understanding of 3D lighting/shading and photography
Ability to tackle the most difficult of shots
Work both independently and within a team environment
Able to work well with the Head of Design, taking direction while still taking ownership of each project
