Job Description: Remote
Role Overview:
As a Video Editor, you will be responsible for assembling recorded footage into a finished product that adheres to the creative vision and technical standards of the television show. You'll work closely with producers, directors, and other members of the post-production team to craft compelling narratives, ensure visual continuity, and maintain high production quality. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong storytelling skills, and proficiency in editing software.
**Responsibilities**:
Editing:
- Edit raw footage to create a cohesive and engaging narrative that aligns with the show's style and tone.
- Review and select the best takes, shots, and sequences to assemble into a final cut.
- Incorporate music, sound effects, and visual effects to enhance the overall production value.
- Ensure smooth transitions between scenes and segments, maintaining continuity and flow.
Collaboration:
- Collaborate with producers, directors, and other team members to understand the creative vision and objectives of each episode.
- Participate in editing meetings and screenings to discuss feedback, revisions, and adjustments.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues to address any technical or creative challenges.
Quality Control:
- Conduct thorough quality checks to ensure technical accuracy, consistency, and compliance with broadcast standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to audio, video, or visual effects.
- Make revisions and refinements based on feedback from supervisors and stakeholders.
- Efficiency and Time Management:
- Manage project timelines and deadlines effectively to deliver episodes on schedule.
- Organize and maintain project files, assets, and archives to facilitate efficient workflow.
- Prioritize tasks and allocate time appropriately to meet production goals.
Adaptability:
- Adapt to changes in production requirements, schedules, and priorities.
- Stay informed about industry trends, techniques, and advancements in editing technology.
- Embrace new challenges and opportunities for growth.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Film Production, Media Studies, or related field preferred.
- Proven experience as a video editor, preferably in television or broadcast media.
- Proficiency in non-linear editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or Avid Media Composer.
- Strong understanding of editing principles, techniques, and aesthetics.
- Excellent storytelling abilities and narrative sensibility.
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain high standards of quality and accuracy.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Flexibility to adapt to evolving project requirements and timelines.
Pay: From R35,000.00 per month
