**Counterfeit Forensic Analyst (Financial Services)**

**Location: Pretoria, Gauteng**

**Position Overview**:
A **highly** **reputable** **South** **African** **financial** **services** **concern** has an exciting newly created opportunity for a **Counterfeit Forensic Analyst.**

The main purpose of this position is to **act as the custodian for counterfeit management and research **in order to** develop and maintain policies, processes and procedures used within the cash industry, **and to** ensure that detected counterfeits are managed in accordance with defined standards, guidelines, and regulations **and that** counterfeit threats are mitigated.**

**_ Key Performance Areas:_**
- _Develop and maintain a database of _**_banknote and coin counterfeit typologies_**_._
- _Scan and analyse the _**_international and domestic environment_**_ for _**_counterfeiting risks and threats_**_._
- _Provide in-_**_house forensics counterfeit analysis service_**_._
- _Provide expert testimony on counterfeiting for law enforcement in ongoing counterfeiting cases._
- _Provide advanced technical training and awareness on counterfeiting._
- _Support _**_counterfeiting awareness campaigns_**_._
- _Provide input into _**_counterfeit risk mitigation_**_ throughout the _**_currency life cycle_**_._
- _Present on counterfeiting topics at domestic and international forums._

**To be considered for this position, one must have**:

- A **completed Bachelor’s degree in Forensic Science, Chemistry or Applied Science** or an equivalent qualification.
- A **minimum of 5 to 8 years’ relevant experience in Forensics or Comparable Analysis**.
- **Solid knowledge of Currency Counterfeiting, risks, and threats** - especially in relation to **Forensic Analysis and Expert Testimony.
