**Position**:Griller

**Reporting to**:Sous Chef

**Location**: Cape town

The purpose of this position is to assist in preparation of the food and helping the other chefs in the kitchen by mainly handling the grill section.

**Key Job Functions**
- Slicing, cutting, shredding, tenderizing, and skewering meat and vegetables.
- Braising and grilling meat and vegetables.
- Checking that ingredients remain fresh and safe for consumption.
- Ensuring all health and safety requirements are adhered to.
- Ensuring that your workstation is always clean and tidy.
- Informing the Manager when equipment is due for maintenance, repair, or replacement.
- Tracking stock to ensure that you always have sufficient supplies.
- Preventing cross-contamination.
- Preparing meals in accordance with customers' dietary requirements and specifications.
- Ensuring orders are effectively and efficiently completed.

**Knowledge and Experience Required**
- National Senior Certificate (Matric)
- Previous work experience within a fine dining restaurant (Advantageous)
- Minimum 1-2 years grilling experience

**Person Profile, Skills and Attitude**
- Thorough knowledge of food safety guidelines.
- Ability to stand for long hours.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and level-headed in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to the production of high-quality outputs and excellent customer service.
- Ability to work shifts, over weekends, and on holidays, as required.
