- Liaise with management and Exco to provide them with the necessary insights into Legal-related matters.
- Have a good understanding of Risk Management and how it impacts the Legal environment and _vice versa_.
- Implement and abide by policies, procedures, standards and frameworks.
- Demonstrate leadership behavior through personal involvement, commitment, and dedication in support of organisational values.
- Draft, review and manage a contracting process from inception to implementation.
- Be able to provide insights into risk matters and provide solutions from a Legal Risk Management perspective.
- Maintain expert knowledge on relevant legislative amendments, industry best practices and provision of proactive advice and solutions to relevant stakeholders.
- Negotiate terms of contracts with third parties on behalf of the Bank.
- Manage third party relationships on behalf of the Bank.
- Have an LLB or LLM degree.
- Have at least 5 years of experience in a similar environment, of which 1 to 2 years ideally at senior specialist level.
- Have experience in the Information Technology space.
- Have experience in Operational Risk Management and Legal Risk Management.
- Have a honed ability to draft and review commercial contracts in a dynamic and fast-changing environment.
- Have exceptional attention to detail.
