**Role and Responsibilities**

**Operations Management**
- To ensure that the hotel is maintained to the highest standards
- To oversee and control all stocktaking.
- Maintain and manage hotel equipment, infrastructure, inventories and other facilities efficiently.
- Oversee the operations functions of the hotel
- Ensure full compliance to hotel operating controls, SOP’s, policies, procedures and service standards.
- Closely monitor the hotels business reports on a daily basis and take decisions accordingly
- Help in the procurement of operating supplies and equipment and contracting with third-party vendors for essential equipment and services.
- Oversee and manage all departments ie. Housekeeping, catering, security etc. and work closely with department heads on a daily basis.

Follow all company policies and coordinate with HR

**Customer Service and brand management**
- Personally greet and interact with as many customers as possible with concept of creating a personalized environment within the hotel.
- Resolve all guest complaints personally and timeously
- To develop and maintain a culture of top
- class customer care standards.
- Design strategies to ensure total guest satisfaction.
- Ensure highest standards of professional services to customers.
- Track reviews and manage the hotel’s online presence
- Create a buzz online with offers and promos
- Promote the hotel and maintain positive image of the company in community
- Create an aggressive Marketing Plan

Reinvent branding strategies to create a brand recall

**Team Leadership**
- To ensure that the Management Team is trained appropriately to the highest standards.
- To ensure a good working relationship with all employees
- Hold regular communications meetings with all employees and the Management team.
- To develop all employees through to use of appraisals, training and development in consultation with the Human Resources Manager.
- To recruit for vacancies across the business in consultation with the Human Resources Manager
- Help employees develop skill sets, identify talent and hone their skills
- Build up a positive work environment to keep motivational levels high
- Communicate with the team, ask about career goals, and set targets
- Work with HR on areas of employee retention, employee engagement
- Refer all staff IR matters ie. disciplinaries, disputes amongst staff, misconduct and under performance to HR

**Revenue and Budget Management**
- Develop a proactive Yield Management program to include ninety-day forecasting identifying strong and weak periods in order to maximize average rate resulting in increased revenues.
- Develop standards based on occupancy to control costs to coincide with revenues in accordance with the budget
- Identify ideal clientele and develop a strategy to build relationships with their source.
- Make adjustments and implement changes to maximize profits
- Manage on-going profitability of the hotel, ensuring revenue targets are met and exceeded.

A strong understanding of Profit and Loss statements and the ability to react with impactful strategies

**Reporting**
- Present month end reports at monthly Management meeting to include accurate financial statements, guest comment surveys and marketing activity reports.

Provide accurate reporting to enhance the sales and marketing plan to identify sources of business
- **Qualifications and Education Requirements**

Degree in hospitality or hotel management

5+ years experience in hotel management is essential.

Strong problem solving skills

Good leadership skills - must be able to motivate and guide employees

Strong budgets and scheduling knowledge

Proficient in MS office
