**Our client is seeking a highly experienced and hands-on IT Infrastructure Manager / Data Centre Manager to join their company, based in Pretoria.**

**Education and experience required**:

- A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent degree.
- Working knowledge of PMBOK and/or Prince-2.
- Experienced Technical ICT background.
- Should have managed an Enterprise data centre for more than 10 years.
- 5 to 10 years management experience.
- Insurance or financial services industry experience.
- Experienced in the software development life cycle (SDLC).
- Experienced of business area's specific technology environments.
- Experienced and understanding of database and networking principles and best practices.
- Experienced of COBIT and ITIL frameworks.
- Experienced of Solutions Architecture and/or Enterprise Architecture.
- Experienced of data integration and warehousing tools.

- Management of the ICT operations budget and resources.
- Evaluate, select, procure, and ensure installation of appropriate software and hardware tools.
- Ensures that levels of service quality and availability meet or exceed any Service Level Agreement requirement or group target, minimizing any response time and problem resolution time.
- Ensures that relevant procedures and working practices are in place for the efficient and effective operations of the ICT department.
- Responsible for the management of database administration.
- Manages the provision of services and upgrades relating to outsourced areas of server management.
- Ensures server uptime, stability, and security.
- Acts as the lead technical adviser on all matters relating to server, storage, and database management. Provides advice and guidance on the design and development of new and changed systems to optimize operational efficiency.
- Ensures that appropriate software and specialist monitoring tools are used to maintain awareness and control of hardware and software.
- Ensure ICT Service Continuity and Disaster Recovery of the server, storage, and database components of the ICT infrastructure.
- Takes overall responsibility for safety, operational security, environmental control equipment and computer rooms (in conjunction with the facilities management function) and the negotiation and monitoring of service supplier contracts.
- Develops own continuous service improvement plan and contributes to overall ICT service improvement planning.
- Establishes and maintains effective corporate processes, procedures, and a knowledge repository for the management of the company’s servers, databases, and storage solutions.
- Delivers the priorities set out in the ICT Strategic Plan and overall targets and aspirations of the Group by implementing designated objectives within the annual ICT team plan.
- Manages ICT risks and mitigation related to the purpose of the job.
- Adopts industry best practice for ICT service management (ITIL) and promotes and delivers continuous service improvement.
- Encourages collaborative and consistent working practices across ICT teams by aiding the development of a service’ culture across the company.

**Technical duties and responsibilities**:

- Manages the Groups critical Datacentre, Business Continuity, Network, Communication environments.
- Leads and manages the development and implementation of the IT Infrastructure Roadmap.
