preparation**Overview**:
The main function of the Finance Intern is to assist our client in the Confectionary industry's Finance Team with various generalist finance responsibilities. The Intern will gain exposure to the day to day processes which will include Accounts Payable, Cashbook reconciliations and other departmental administration processes. As this is an internship position, applicants should have no more than 1 year’s relevant working experience.

**Responsibilities & duties**:

- Assisting with the processing of invoices and payments
- Processing of journals such as accruals and provisions in preparations of monthly reports
- Ensuring that all payments and receipts are updated daily so that that all financial accounting transactions the team is responsible for are reflected in the trial balance
- Assistance with the clearance of the debtors and creditors age analysis
- Reconciliation on balance sheet accounts
- Assistance with reports to analyse trends
- Providing daily support on all outstanding queries from the regional offices and customers as and when required.
- Ad hoc accounting duties
- General assistance to the Senior Bookkeeper and Business Head.

**Education, skills and experience required**:

- Bachelors (BCom) Degree in Financial Management.
- Well spoken, good communication skills, verbal and written in English and Afrikaans
- Strong Microsoft Office skills - especially Excel
- Must be able to work in a pressurised environment and be deadline and target-driven
- Must be able to work independently, as well as part of a team
- Must be able to manage your own time effectively
- Excellent attention to detail
- Confidentiality and integrity is non-negotiable

**Job Type**: Internship
Contract length: 12 months

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Blackheath, Western Cape: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)

**Education**:

- Bachelors (required)

**Experience**:

- Microsoft Office: 3 years (preferred)
- Invoicing: 1 year (preferred)

**Language**:

- Afrikaans (required)

License/Certification:

- Drivers licence (required)
