**Key duties and responsibilities**:

- Analyse current compensation data to identify potential issues such as pay gaps and recommend strategies to close gaps and ensure equitability in all levels.
- Evaluate the current grading system and pay scales, SOP, and practices. Provide guidance in best practice on pay scales management.
- Create a Grading Committee and train the committee on Paterson Grading System and grading principles and develop SOP.
- Define a fair, equitable and competitive total compensation and benefits package that fits and is aligned to our company’s strategy and business goals.
- Develop a consistent compensation philosophy in line with work culture and organisational objectives.
- Conduct job evaluation, job grading and maintaining the job matrix of the organisation to ensure internal equity is maintained.
- Ensure that compensation practices follow current legislation.
- Participate in salary and labour market surveys and analyze findings to add value to the company’s reward strategy.
- Gather benchmarking data and restructure compensation to make sure we remain competitive in terms of salaries and benefits.
- Differentiate pay systems to invest in the segments of workforce that contribute the most value.
- Deploy effective communication strategies and success metrics.
- Participate in HR Projects and organization wide projects.
- Other tasks as reasonably required by Management.

**Minimum qualifications and experience**:

- Bachelor’s degree in human resources management, Finance, or relevant background.
- Global remuneration certificate would be an added advantage.
- Demonstrated years of experience within a similar role designing and performing analysis and benchmarking using survey data, administering compensation programs, and processing data using HR technology and/or Excel
- Demonstrated years of experience gained, preferably within a global matrixed organisation.
- Relevant project management certification(s) is desirable.

**Technical knowledge, skills, and attributes**:

- Strong knowledge of HR practices and labor legislation.
- Familiarity with payroll software.
- Excellent analytical and qualitative skills.
- Good communication skills.
- Effectiveness best practice, with an aptitude for translating this into practice.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence and persuade a wide range of people.
- Proactive approach to issues and problems, and continuous improvement focused.
- Strong written communication skills, with the ability to write policies and papers and presentations for senior management and to develop organisation-wide communications.
- Ability to build relationships, based on trust and confidence, with managers and employees at all levels to foster an environment of co-operation and collaboration.
- Ability to interpret and analyse data, provide insights, and present information in a professional format.
- Ability to work in a team, sharing and demonstrating ideas of good practice and give professional guidance to departmental support staff.
- Microsoft Office, HR Information Systems.
