**Junior DTP Designer**

**(Fixed term contract position)**

Oxford University Press is looking for a Junior DTP Designer to support the Managing Designers to create original cover and spec designs for print products and do reprint corrections on existing specs and covers. The Junior DTP Designer does quality control, prepares reprint files for printing, completes ad hoc design tasks, and ensures design files are archived according to OUP policy.

The Junior DTP Designer will be reporting to the Publishing Services Manager. This post is based in Cape Town.

**Principal Accountabilities**:

- Support the Managing Designers to create original designs as per briefs received
- Quality control design projects
- Archive all completed projects
- Build and maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Collaborate across all teams within publishing

**Qualifications and Experience**
- Diploma or Degree level qualification in Design
- Relevant working experience in design
- Can demonstrate delivering high-quality designs
- Branding & page layout
- Creative Suit (InDesign, Photoshop)
- Understand design terminology and processes
- Database maintenance
- Project management
- Reproduction processes
- Printing terminology and processes
