**MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS**
- A Bachelor’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
- A Valid professional registration as a Speech therapist with HPCSA.
- At least 2 years clinical practice in the field of Speech-Language Therapy post community service.

**ADDED ADVANTAGES**
- Experience in student’s supervision.
- Experience with teaching/tutoring or clinical accompaniment.

**DUTIES**
- **Administration** -day-to-day administrative duties related to the clinical training program of Speech-Language Pathology and departmental activities. Contribution to Faculty governance through committee structures.
- **Clinical Supervision**:

- of students to ensure that they accumulate a variety of clinical skills commensurate with the SPL guidelines. Ensure that all students are allocated to clinical training platforms so that they complete the recommended minimum clinical hours as stipulated in the HPCSA guidelines within their academic year.
- **Clinical lecturing** that involves giving tutorials to students, prepare case-based seminars and have discussions as well as provide feedback to students and lecturers.
- **Assessment** - of students’ performance in all clinical areas.
- **Research **co - supervision of undergraduate students and participation in research activities: carry own research, join existing projects and participate in activities of the Health Sciences Institute (HSI).

**ESSENTIAL COMPETENCIES**
- independence and evidence of academic and clinical standing in a field of speech therapy.
- working knowledge of computers (Microsoft office, Teams, Zoom etc).
- an ability to lecture or at least must have shared profession specific knowledge in a group of people.
- effective communication skills.
- good interpersonal relations and a client-service orientation.
- a high level of professional and ethical conduct.
