Job Description:
The purpose of the position is to manage the Can Factory department. To manage Risk and Safety within the unit. Ensure legal compliance and adherence to maintenance and planning schedules. The role needs to ensure that all manufactured cans are meeting product and Quality specifications. Non
- compliance can have adverse consequences to the downstream processes and to our customers. In terms of Quality requirements the role needs to ensure that all GMP’s, OPRP are followed and complied with, by the Production Teams.
- Adhere to the Production schedule and ensure that production teams follow the plan.
- Ensure all Occupational, Health and Safety Act requirements are adhered to.
- Audit and ensure compliance with all Quality requirements and standards are adhered to.
- Manage teams to ensure machine availability, Labour availability and identify improvement opportunities.
- Optimise equipment in line with standard procedures to enhance performance and quality
- Ensuring the achievement of all agreed key performance areas with the Production Teams.
- Ensure effective record keeping related to Safety incidents and Quality incidents.
- People productivity and development including training and development requirements.
- Adhere to standards, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001. Manage short and medium term risks to internal customers and company reputation.
- Manage energy consumption, reduce waste and comply with Internal Audit requirements.
- Maintain safety program and housekeeping requirements - Conduct incident investigations
- Report daily and weekly on plant performance and downtime.
- Conduct RCA’s (Root cause analysis) for all incurred incidents.
- Be team player and coach production teams.
- Reduce manufacturing cost by optimising work flow, manufacturing processes and materials used.

**Job Requirements**:

- Degree in Engineering or Production Management / National Diploma in Engineering or Production Management/Packaging / Equivalent.
- Minimum
- 5 years in a Manufacturing environment in a role of leading multi-disciplinary teams. Being able to withstand pressure in a fast movable consumer goods environment (FMCG - dynamics).
- Strong computer skills with Microsoft (Word, Excel, Power Point)
- Physically fit.
- Organizational skills.
- Financial and business acumen.
- Communication proficiency
