- Career Stream- Organisational Effectiveness (Learning and OD)**Job Purpose**
- To head the Specialist Training Programme that is responsible for building a sustainable pipeline of specialist young talented Chartered Accountants (CA) and Quantitative Analysts for the Nedbank group.- This is done through leading the strategy, design, planning, market positioning, recruitment, training and development of the two flagship Nedbank young talent programmes:
- The Nedbank Quants Graduate Programme and;
- The Nedbank CA Training Programme.

**Responsibilities**:

- Align and operationalise strategy for the Specialist Training Programmes (STP) (Namely: Nedbank CA Training Programme and Nedbank Quants Graduate Programme) to meet the objectives of the Group Talent Strategy.
- Work closely with the business to develop an understanding of young talent requirements across the organisation in the context of the group strategy.
- Define and clearly articulate a compelling value proposition and workforce experience for the Specialist Training Programmes.
- Perform the role of a South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) Training Officer for the Nedbank CA Training Programme in accordance to all relevant SAICA regulations. (See SAICA compliance section below)
- Position Nedbank as graduate employer of choice in the market by providing strategic oversight and management of the brand positioning of the Specialist Training Programmes
- Manage and provide strategic oversight into the recruitment, assessment framework and selection process for new graduates and trainees that delivers on Nedbank’s transformation targets and leverages transformation as a competitive advantage.
- Manage and provide strategic oversight into the continuous professional skills development of graduates and trainees on the programme.
- Ensure that the programmes (STP) operate within budget parameters guided by the Nedbank 3-Year Budgeting and Business plan processes.
- Manage and provide strategic oversight into ensuring collaborative relationships with various young talent internal and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to a culture of transformation by participating in Nedbank culture building initiatives, business strategy, and CSI. Stay abreast of developments in field of expertise, ensuring personal and professional growth.
- Understand and embrace the Nedbank vision and values, leading by example.
- Optimise efficiency and embed the correct values by ensuring that team understand and support Nedbank' s vision, values and strategy.
- Manage performance of team and hold them accountable for managing the performance of their teams by implementing performance agreements and ensuring a clear vision
- Build depth of skills and knowledge in the team of managers by sharing knowledge and insight with team members

**SAICA Compliance**
- The Training Officer shall meet the requirements for training officers as set out in the SAICA regulations and in line with SAICA’s accreditation criteria and must be registered with SAICA as an assessor in terms of the applicable SAQA requirements.
- The Training Officer shall be responsible for implementing processes and procedures to ensure that the development and assessment process meet the requirements of both SAICA.
- Ensure that the training office as it relates to the CA Training Programme complies with all SAICA Training Regulations.
- Ensure that CA trainees are trained in standards of professional ethics which are expected of CAs.
- Ensure that CA Trainee Programme strategy is in line with SAICA’s Training Regulations
- Refer to the SAICA Training Manual and SAICA Training Regulations._
- Essential Qualifications - NQF Level- Professional Qualifications/Honour’s Degree
- Preferred Qualification- Bcom Accounting Hons
- CA(SA)
- Essential Certifications- SAICA registration
- Preferred Certifications- Registered SAICA Assessor
- Minimum Experience Level3- 5 years post CA(SA) qualification experience with a preference for experience as a Training Officer/Graduate Programme Manager.
