Purpose:
Support development of project M&E strategies, frameworks, plans and indicators to capture program performance and results.

**Duties**:
Contribute to the development and implementation of the Evaluation and Performance Measurement Plan to capture project performance and results;
- Ensure implementation of M&E activities, in collaboration with project staff and counterparts;
- Assist in planning and implementing systems for data collection, storage, analysis, and use;
- Ensure that data collection systems are in place, functional, timely and efficient;
- Support design and implementation of assessments, including development of data collection tools and processes, to inform program activities;
- Develop mobile data collection tools and processes for data collection and management;
- Create and use databases to capture, clean, and manage program data;
- Ensure accurate recording and timely reporting of agreed indicators
- Analyse data and synthesize results in graphs and dashboards as appropriate to inform programming and decision-making, including writing and compiling qualitative and quantitative results;
- Prepare data for and write reports capturing program results, success stories, challenges and lessons learned, including timely reporting to the client.
- Monitor and update M&E workplans;
- Serve as a technical resource on M&E for the company and the client.
- Work closely with the site Manager and client liaison to coordinate data management during site visits;
- Participate in the external quality assurance activities implemented by the client;
- Assist in preparation of daily site reporting, and weekly, monthly & quarterly reports to the client and contribute to other required technical reports; ensuring timeliness of reporting and dissemination of project information according to the client reporting guidelines;
- Develop and maintain excellent relationships with colleagues, and the Client.
- Perform any other project related duties as assigned by Project Director which will facilitate achievement of project deliverables.

Qualifications and Experience:
Degree in public health, epidemiology, demography, health informatics, (bio)statistics, computer science, or related health or social science;Atleast 5 years of applied skills in implementing M&E activities for public health or similar programs;
Competencies:

- Strong technical skills, including proficiency in conducting program monitoring and assessments, and analysing data;
- Experience collecting, entering, cleaning, and validating data;
- Proficiency in managing field data collection work, including experience with mobile data collection tools (cell phones, tablets);
- Experience designing mobile data collection tools, and managing tablet-based data entry, storage, and extraction;
- Experience managing data collection processes, including training data collectors and other project staff and collecting and reviewing submitted data;
- Experience developing and maintaining databases;
- Experience developing and maintaining data in data management software (e.g., MS Access, RedCap, or others)
- Proficiency in use of computer packages such as MS Word, Access, Excel, Power Point and Outlook;
- Ability to process and analyze data using one or more statistical software packages (e.g., SPSS/STATA/EPI-Info);
- Knowledge and experience in report writing including preparation of quantitative results and writing narrative on project performance;
- Skilled in use of geographic information system (GIS) software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) is an added advantage;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to lead and work effectively with interdisciplinary team with mínimal supervision;
- Team player able to work in high-pressure environments and manage multiple activities and priorities simultaneously;
- Experience in training and facilitation on M&E systems development, maintenance and improvement;
- Excellent time management and organizational skills;
- Innovative, assertive and positive attitude towards work and the team;
- Fluent spoken and written English;
- Ability and willingness to travel nationally.

- Johannesburg, Gauteng: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)

**Education**:

- Bachelors (preferred)

**Experience**:

- M and E strategies, frameworks: 10 years (preferred)
