Well established manufacturing company based in Alberton on the East Rand has a vacancy for a Production Supervisor with experience in a factory environment.

**Minimum Requirements**:
Must have a Tertiary Qualification in Mechanical Engineering (N. Diploma, B-tech or Equivalent) or qualified artisan

Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Supervisor in a factory environment

Be able to read and understand engineering drawings

Must have valid drivers license and own transport

Must be prepared to work shifts, overtime, weekends and public holidays as required

**Experience Required**:
Previous experience having worked within a Supervisory role - preferably where CNC turning and milling operations are performed

Experience in usage of measuring instruments (Vernier, micrometre etc)

Ability to operate overhead crane and forklift will be advantageous

Knowledge and experience in the graphite and carbon industry is ideal

**Duties and Responsibilities**:
Plan, schedule and coordinate factory activities in order to meet production targets and resolve any production issues

Responsible for all factory employees and ensuring that disciplinary matters are dealt with appropriately according to the company's disciplinary code

Provide accurate feedback on Work In Progress and report any deviations to management

Conduct daily meetings with the production team

Ensure that all safety measures and company policies and procedures are adhered to

Maintain open lines of communication between employees and management

Assist with reporting non-conformances and fixing of root cause

Observe compliance to production quality standards and promote continuous improvement of processes

Respond to breakdowns by adjusting schedules accordingly, in order to meet changing production targets

Maintain good house keeping

Ensure that machines are cleaned, lubricated and report any maintenance issues

General admin duties including maintaining an inventory of tools, equipment and keeping a maintenance schedule

Promote a culture of teamwork, employing best practices that benefit all employees in the factory
