Position/Title: Demand Planner
Reports To: Planning Manager
Function: Support
Area: Johannesburg

Overall Responsibility:
Compiles a pragmatic forecast with inputs from statistics, commercial and marketing stakeholders to reduce risk in the supply chain of the business

Main responsibilities
- Compile statistics to support the business, normalising data adequately and using the most relevant model per data set at lowest granularity on different lags, continually measuring which lag offers the best results.
- Set up and Manage Demand Planning KPIs to improve business forecasting accuracy.
- Segments the Portfolio to drive focus in conversations.
- Collaborate with Commercial and Marketing stakeholders to enrich forecasts.
- Setting up and running monthly Demand Reviews in the S&OP routines
- Attending and contributing to weekly S&OE sessions to support S&OP objectives, flagging challenges on forecasting KPIs and bringing suggestions to amend the operational forecast.
- Publishing Demand Volumes timely for downstream stakeholders alongside transparency of changes made.
- Creating routines to ensure Master data is accurate in the planning system.

Requirements of the Role
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain management, Business Administration, statistics or a related field
- Experience in working with statistical forecasting tools is a plus

Preferred Skills/Competencies
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with proficiency in data analysis and statistical forecasting techniques
- Proficiency in supply chain planning software and tools is beneficial.
- Knowledge of supply chain concepts, demand & inventory management, and production planning.
- Attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to work with large datasets.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to analyse complex demand patterns.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or other data analysis tools.
- Ability to adapt to changing demands, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize and meet deadlines.
