Deputy Director: Ict Governance Risk

**(KPA’s)**:

- Develop, maintain and execute Governance Roadmap,
- Manage and coordinate IT processes and change management and Enterprise Architecture,
- Deliver on ICS process improvements and strategic change initiatives by developing governance models,
- Establish and work with cross-functional teams to design, develop and integrate IT processes, Standards, Control Frameworks, Information Security best practices, legislative compliance frameworks as it pertains to ICT,
- Monitor and improve on the University Cyber Resilience,
- Study new frameworks, legislation and technologies and utilise core IT assets to address needs and goals,
- Lead the creation and evolution of the enterprise architecture program,
- Act as a change agent to implement and manage best practices across the IT organization, and formulate staff training initiatives as it pertains to Risk Management, Audit Compliance, Information Security,
- Oversee the management of the Risk Register and the Policy Catalogue,
- Own the engagement with Internal and External Auditors,
- Coordinates RFI/RFPs as it relates to GRC,
- Vendor SLA Management within the GRC space,
- Serve as the ICT compliance Subject matter expert at the University,
- Provide regular status reports to all levels of the University to support the Governance Structures,
- Manage and report on assigned budgets,
- Manage GRC team,
- On-going monitoring of emerging and current laws, regulations, initiatives and industry practices relevant to the business and driving the implementation of appropriate interventions.

**Minimum Requirements**

**Minimum Requirements (Qualification, Skills & Experience)**:

- Completed Post Graduate qualification (NQF level 8 or above) in an analytical field,
- At least 7 years of relevant experience in Governance or Project Management or PMO or Risk management at a management level,
- Demonstrable exposure to national and international regulatory compliances and frameworks i.e. NIST, ISO, PCI-DSS, CISP, POPIA, GDPR, etc.

**Required Competencies**:

- Demonstrable experience developing and implementing governance frameworks,
- Demonstrable experience dealing with C-Suite stakeholders,
- Understanding of Governance within Higher Education or Public Sector,
- Understanding of Enterprise Architectural Principles,
- Understanding of Policy Development Principles,
- Understanding of Information Security Principles,
- Understanding of Risk Management Principles,
- Understanding of Audit Principles,
- Good understanding of ICT management and ICT Principles,
- Strong team management experience,
- Demonstrable experience working with C-Suite stakeholders,
- Understanding of information security technology, cloud technologies, such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems (IDS), data leakage protection (DLP), access management, anti-malware, and SIEM technologies.-
