Assist in ensuring plant availability and uptime by attending to equipment breakdown and ensure optimum production output is achieved

**Requirements**:

- N3 Mechanical Engineering or Matric
- Trade Test: Fitter.
- Welding qualification (MIG, TIG, Arc) will be advantageous.
- Valid driver’s license. Must have own reliable transport.
- Must be flexible due to work demands.
- Able to use trade related measuring equipment/instruments.
- Able to read engineering drawings to ensure parts are welded to specified engineering requirements.
- Physically fit and able bodied due to the nature of the duties.
- Able to work at heights and confined spaces
- At least 5 years’ work experience as a Fitter in plant maintenance within a manufacturing environment.
- At least 5 years’ welding experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Exposure in food processing will be advantageous.
- Experience in working with specialized/power tools.
- Good understanding of maintenance systems and work procedures.
- Interpret technical drawings.
- Knowledge of HACCP, food safety, pest control and SOP’s will be advantageous

**Responsibilities**:

- Responsible for planned and breakdown maintenance of mechanical equipment.
- Installing, repair and maintenance of manufacturing equipment.
- Remove and fitting of equipment components.
- Use welding equipment to fuse structural components.
- Use and maintain product welding files and ensure that files are available at any
- given time

08h00 - 17h30 (dependent on operational requirements)

Hours may fluctuate due to operational requirements, standby and weekends/public
