The African Union Development Agency invites applicants who are citizens of African Union Member States for the post of **Principal Officer, Creating Opportunities for Youth and Women in Africa (COYWA).**

**Required Skills and Competencies**
- Experience in project coordination and management, preferably in the field of youth, gender and women empowerment including implementing and monitoring projects focused on strengthening women entrepreneurs and promoting gender equality.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including women entrepreneurs and gender-focused organizations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop a comprehensive programme proposal.
- Proven track record of developing comprehensive funding proposals.
- Experience in managing private sector platforms and working with development partners and multilateral institutions to mobilise funding.
- Proven experience in project coordination, preferably in the development sector.
- Experience in supervising a team and ability to leverage limited resources, staff and consultants for maximum impact.
- Strong project management skills, including planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.
- Proven experience in preparing project implementation reports including project closure reports.
- Proficiency in programme budget management, reporting and using project management tools and software such as SAP.
- High level of integrity and accountability, flexible approaches to work coupled with enthusiasm, commitment and energetic.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks and work under pressure with a wide range of individuals and institutions.

**Education and Experience**:
A Master’s degree in Economics, Business Administration, Agribusiness, MSME Management, Social Development, Project Management, or a related field, with eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in project management, preferably with a focus on entrepreneurship, youth and/or women's economic empowerment in Africa, of which three (3) years are at a supervisory level in the public sector, multinational or multilateral institutions or similar organizations nationally, regionally and/or internationally.

A Bachelor’s degree in Economics, business administration, Business Administration, Agribusiness, MSME Management, Social Development, Project Management, or a related field, with twelve (12) years’ experience, of which seven (7) years are at a specialist/expert level in project management, preferably with a focus on entrepreneurship, youth and/or women's economic empowerment in Africa in the public sector, multinational or multilateral institutions or similar organizations nationally, regionally and/or internationally.

**Remuneration**: Indicative basic salary of US$48,131.20 per annum plus other entitlements e.g., Post Adjustment (57% of basic salary), Housing allowance ($24,561.84 per annum), gratuity (15% of gross salary) in conformity with the rules and procedures applicable to internationally recruited staff of the African Union.
