As you lead work within the Transport Practice you will also have the opportunity to work across all their other business practices when needed, supporting short-term consulting and longer-term project implementation assignments.

You are a highly intelligent, motivated and persuasive professional with multi-perspective views on international development, particularly in transport-related topics. A natural communicator and problem solver who thrives in working with complex detail and strategically developing projects solution proposals for Clients.

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- ** Managing teams of consultants and external experts** to deliver client assignments in a fast-paced environment and owning project deliverables, in a South African and possibly international context.
- ** Leading client engagements** and relationships in the transport practice.
- Playing an active role in **driving the growth** of the team through business acquisition, through direct sales activities and responding to tendered public sector opportunities.
- ** Building & maintaining active networks** with technical partners, clients, and key stakeholders in the transport sector.
- Structuring work assignments and problem-solving approaches.
- Producing high **quality research, analysis and communications** related to work in the transport sector.
- Acting as hub of expertise **focusing on strategy and policy formulation**, for clients and internal teams.
- ** Leading implementation** processes for large, multi-disciplinary initiatives.
- ** Mentor and develop junior staff.**

**QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE**:
**_ Required_**
- Minimum of a **undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Economics, Engineering, Development Studies, Public Policy, Law, Finance, International Relations, Urban Planning, Transport** or related field
- ** 12 Years consulting or business advisory experience gained **within the** public transport or related sector**:

- Proven experience in **managing and delivering consulting assignments** and comfort with client and large tender management
- Proven experience in **driving business development in the transport sector**:

- ** Proven leadership** skills and comfort with undertaking, and guiding junior colleagues in, the delivery of **quantitative and qualitative analysis** to inform proposals and recommendations to clients.

**_ Preferred_**
- Experience of working in Africa and other frontier markets.
- Experience in the formal public sector, including Integrated Public Transport Networks (IPTNs), or related sectors.
- Experience in the informal public transport sector, its transformation and empowerment or related sectors.
- Experience with projects in the public sector, across national, provincial and local spheres of government.
