**Summary**

The Clinical Co-ordinator Occupational Health, assumes responsibility for the co-ordination, provision and establishment of occupation health services for client’s satellite employees leading to capacity planning across DSP and mobile services to ensure the promotion, protection and restoration of the employee’s health within a safe working environment;

Assists in the planning, coordination, monitoring, and evaluation of medical services for client employees with emphasis on quality of care, continuity of services, and cost-effectiveness under administrative direction of the Regional Operations Manager. This includes the co-ordination of all functions and activities related to the clinical governance and quality management system in accordance with the appropriate regulatory and accreditation bodies; through the leadership of a multidisciplinary team.

**EDUCATION**
- Diploma / Degree in Nursing
- Occupational health qualification
- Current registration with the South African Nursing Council
- Intermediate computer skills

**WORK EXPERIENCE**
- At least 5 years’ experience in Occupational Health
- 2 years management experience

**DUTIES**

Operational efficiency
- The ability to utilize the required project methodologies in alliance with the business requirements identified Manage SLA with DSP, Mobile service provider in relation to client SLA Audit legal qualification and registration with professional bodies.
- Check calibration and maintenance schedule availability and effective resource supply. Communicate relevant document requirements for client and audit quality and reporting consistently.
- Contain costs without compromising quality and Co-ordinate and manage variable billing with regards to capacity planning, DSP and mobile services by collating back up proof and send with invoices
- Outsourcing and management of staffing issues such as locums
- Ensure all standard operating procedures are adhered to. To achieve efficiency, quality output and uniformity of performance, while reducing miscommunication and failure to comply
- Uphold and manage the SLA of the clients and ensure 100% compliance
- Ensure that quality standards are met by systematic monitoring and evaluation as per the Quality

Management System
- Coordinate clinic activities e.g., MSPs, stats, reporting
- Annual and random audits of the DSPs and mobile services in alignment with the following key criteria:

- Qualifications
- Calibration
- Medical Waste Compliance
- Infrastructure
- Record keeping and Documentation
- In Service Education for identified gaps
- Ensure accurate recordkeeping and data integrity
- Inform operations manager promptly of any administrative and client related problems
- Perform route cause analysis, compile a corrective action plan, implement and track outcomes
- Ensure mobile and DSP services compliance
- Promote potential new business opportunities

Patient Care
- Ensure protocols and procedures are in place, communicated and used
- Risk based medicals to be conducted according to Occupational Risk Exposure Profiles
- In case of referrals, ensure feedback reports are received and cases are closed
- Ensure health education programme as agreed upon at Occupational Health is communicated to DSP and mobile services - employees need to sign acknowledgement of education received during medical assessment
- Regular audits of patient records with regards to legal compliance, signatures, correct treatment per
- diagnosis, effective referral for employees of concern etc

Case Management
- Overseeing and managing employees with chronic illness, those returning from risk pool, post illness and post injury on duty
- Coordinate the scheduling of employees for renewal of fitness for duty certificate, management requests for review and follow up appointments
- Coordinate the management of employees declared temporarily unfit to ensure their quickest possible return to normal duties
- Coordinate the management of employees declared permanently unfit and ensure they are referred for incapacity and disability assessment and the risk pool
- Coordinate and refer cases to multidisciplinary teams for investigations and a management plan for work related diseases
- Managing the employee chronic list per site
- Coordinate and refer cases that require compensation to claims administrators
- Manage and coordinate all depot-based Health programs e.g., Flu vaccinations, Health promotion programs
- Coordinate the investigation of identified occupational illness and their reporting to the Safety Department
- Conduct quarterly Depot walkthroughs and clinic visits
- Maintain the medical data of the assigned business unit on SAP
- Represent the Health & Wellness department in the assigned business unit’s operational and safety meeting including representation to the Boards of Inquiry
- Provide monthly statistics to operations manager on a monthly basis
