Position Purpose:_**
- Provide second line of defence on security compliance, policy and standards activities, and provide oversight over the first
line of defence and support the third line of defence when necessary
- Support the development, maintenance and change control of security policies and standards
- Under the direction and supervision of the Head of Security Governance, Risk, Compliance and Training, execute the risk
and governance program by performing the following:
Consolidated Risk Register - maintain a risk register based on identified security risks;
Controls Catalogue - based on review of security procedures and walkthroughs, maintain an inventory of internal controls
and map them to key risk areas;
Issues Management - track the progress of remediation of control weaknesses identified by TIA or through control
self-assessments (CSA);
Risk Assessment - assist in the execution of the corporate compliance by identifying the risks and assessing mitigating
controls to determine the risk profile of the organization;
Risk Monitoring - assist in the development and monitoring of key risk indicators (KRI) that are mapped to various risks to
determine elevations in risk and proactively implement risk mitigation measures;
Emerging Risks - identify emerging risks that present new regulatory or crime related risks;
Data Analytics - coordinate the collection of risk information from source systems, functions.
- Build and develop relationships with all employees for increased efficiency and effective responsiveness into existing
operations, and help to define new operational strategies, working with Group Chief of Security and executives on special
projects

Position outputs:_**
- Support the development, maintenance, change control and communication of the company’s security policies, standards,
guidelines, controls and supporting documents;
- Track internal and external requirements used as input into policy, standard, guideline and control changes with various
control owners and other stakeholders;
- Promote good information security practice and standards across the Group;
- Support third line of defence internal and external audits;
- Stay abreast of industry best practice in relation to security governance, risk and compliance;
- Manage the policy exceptions process and act as an escalation point when necessary;
- Support proactive and timely identification, evaluation and recording of non-compliance and security risks;
- Foster an environment that drives appropriate security risk control behaviour, including early anticipation, identification and
mitigation of security risks, escalating issues in line with the Security Framework Policy;
- Establish strong relationships with business and functional teams;
- Establish strong relationships with IT and other relevant stakeholders;
- Proactively audit processes, practices and documents to identify weaknesses;
- Set plans or framework to manage a compliance violation;
- Educate and train employees on regulations and industry practices;
- Address employee concerns or questions on policy compliance;
- Keep abreast of internal standards and business goals;
- Provide support to the Head of Governance Risk Compliance and Training
**_Qualifications & Experience:_**:
- A Bachelors graduate degree in social, law, military, police or management sciences
- Knowledge of basic social science research methodology and basic project management skills would be desirable.
- Minimum 12 years’ experience in compliance;
- Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of Transnet’s mandate and business;
- Policy and standards development and assurance planning;
- Requirement of trust and honesty in the handling of personal information;
