Logistics Coordinator

Our client, a logistics and transport company has a vacancy for a **Logistics Co-ordinator** with 2-3 years relevant experience.

**Duties**:

- Ensuring that trucks are running at maximum capacity 24/7
- MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE IN Dealing with Transport companies and Suppliers and negotiates cost and on time delivery
- Attention to detail is critical
- Ensure right truck, right size in tight time deadlines
- Booking jobs daily under deadline driven schedules
- Maintain established admin procedures
- Develop relationships with current transporters, clients and truck drivers
- Follow up trucks to determine accurate ETA
- Good communication with clients keeping them informed about the status of the cargo
- Build good relationships with loading and off-loading points
- Identify key role players at loading and off-loading points
- Weekly planning and forecasting of truck movements
- Build client relations and support drivers at loading and off-loading points

**Requirements**:

- Relevant Degree/Diploma not essential
- Transport market knowledge
- Excellent customer service skills
- Good planning and organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work in a team
- Analytical ability
- Good attention to detail
- Prepared to be available for cell phone queries and problem solving after office hours
- Negotiating skills
- Computer literate, as company has their own software that needs to very learnt for the position
