Clinical Trainer

**Main purpose of the job**:
- To provide training and ongoing support to clinical staff at healthcare facilities to ensure the successful implementation of the TB and HIV Viral Load acceleration plan in South Africa
**Location**:

**Key performance areas**:
- Conduct a needs assessment
- Research relevant topics to be presented on
- Feedback and input from team members and paediatricians
- Develop training material (manuals, presentations), support material (posters and pamphlets) and other related activities (case studies, role plays and exercises) that are appropriate to the level of the target group
- Develop pre
- and post-assessments of trainer and participants
- Provide input and support to other team members in developing content
- Update and maintain training material as and when required
- Keep a library of training material
- Liaise with the training team and relevant stakeholders to determine training needs
- Conduct knowledge and skills analysis
- Provide input towards training calendar/training plan
- Plan and schedule relevant training interventions timeously
- Conduct training to target audience as and when required
- Conduct CPD’s and present at Learning Days as and when required
- Provide formal mentoring to relevant stakeholders to ensure skills transfer
- Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, feedback, and support to ensure training effectiveness
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training by obtaining feedback from stakeholders and/or relevant assessments
- Comply with the relevant training policy and procedures (i.e. completing attendance registers and relevant records)
- Submit relevant training records and information to the Training Coordinator and/or Data Capturers for capturing and filing
- Compile relevant annual/monthly training reports for management and donors
**Required minimum education and training**:
- **Diploma in Nursing/Bachelor of Science in Nursing**:
- **Registered with SANC**:
- **Drivers Licence is required**
**Required minimum work experience**:
- **2 years experience of training in HIV diagnostic testing including assays**
**Desirable additional education, work experience and personal abilities**:
- A relevant qualification in Community Health Nursing and Midwifery.
- Certification in HIV and Counselling
- Experience working in an ARV site and/or working with HIV-positive patients
- Experience in presenting training programmes and developing curricula
- Good administrative skills together with working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Creative with a willingness to learn about other medical disciplines
- Self-motivated, able to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Willing to coach and guide others
- Able to communicate with stakeholders at various levels and present/facilitate training interventions
