Our client in the **Payment Services** industry is looking for a **Chief Information Officer (CIO)** who will play a pivotal role in shaping the technical future and driving innovation across the organization. The CIO will be responsible for crafting the technical vision and strategy that transforms the company's technical architecture into a future-fit business model, enabling scalability, efficiency and effectiveness. The CIO’s leadership will be critical in achieving digital transformation goals and enhancing the capabilities in the technology and payments sectors.

The role is of paramount importance due to its pivotal role in steering the company's technological evolution and ensuring its continued success in the highly competitive and dynamic landscape of secure connectivity and payments.

In a world where technology is at the core of business operations, the CIO's role is indispensable, aligning technology initiatives with the company's broader goals and positioning the company as an industry leader in secure communications and managed services.

**Key Responsibilities**

1. Strategy and Leadership:

- **Transformational Leadership**: Provide visionary leadership to inspire and guide the technical team, promoting a shared sense of purpose and direction in alignment with the company's goals.
- **Develop a Technical Vision & Strategy**:Define and communicate a clear technical vision and strategy that aligns with business objectives and positions the company for future success.
- **Strategic Planning**: Contribute to the overall company's strategic planning by providing insights and recommendations on how technology can drive business growth and competitive advantage.

2. Process Optimization and Innovation:

- **Process Improvement**: Identify opportunities for process optimization and improvement within our technical operations to enhance efficiency and agility.
- **Drive Innovation**: Foster a culture of innovation within the technical team, encouraging creative thinking and the exploration of cutting-edge technologies to stay ahead in the industry.
- **Innovation and Research**: Promote a culture of innovation within the technology department by encouraging the exploration of emerging technologies, fintech trends, and disruptive innovations that can benefit the company.

3. Customer Experience:

- **Craft Customer Journey and Experiences**: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create exceptional customer experiences by leveraging technology to meet evolving customer expectations.
- **Customer Focus**: Maintain a customer-centric approach, ensuring that technology solutions enhance the customer experience and meet customer expectations in the payments space.

4. Technical Expertise and Development:

- **Technical Competency**: Maintain a deep understanding of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to ensure the company remains at the forefront of technological advancements.
- **Team Leadership**: Build and lead a high-performing technical team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development. Provide mentorship and guidance to team members.

5. Infrastructure and Security:

- **Architectural Transformation**: Lead efforts to modernize and transform the technical architecture, ensuring it is adaptable, scalable and aligned with business needs.
- **Cyber-security and Data Protection**: Ensure the security and protection of customer payment data and financial transactions. Develop and implement robust cybersecurity measures and compliance with industry standards (such as PCI DSS) to safeguard sensitive information. Payment network resilience

- **Infrastructure Management**: Oversee the management and maintenance of the company's IT infrastructure, including data centers, servers, networks, and cloud-based services, to ensure high availability and reliability.

6. Risk Management and Compliance:

- **Risk Management**: Assess and mitigate technology-related risks, including operational, regulatory and compliance risks and develop contingency plans to ensure business continuity.
- **Compliance and Regulation**: Stay updated on relevant industry regulations and compliance requirements related to payments and financial services. Ensure the company's technology practices align with these regulations.

7. Resource Management and Execution:

- **Budget and Resource Allocation**: Manage the technology budget, allocate resources effectively, and optimize IT investments to achieve cost-efficiency and ROI.
- **Vendor Management**: Manage relationships with technology vendors, negotiate contracts, and ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are met.
