IT Incident

**Environment: In this role you will be responsible for security incident prevention, support and monitoring**


**Pur**pose of the role**:

- Reporting of incidents and events that may warrant further investigation or action.
- Follow up with relevant staff to ensure that remediation steps and actions have been timeously undertaken to mitigate risks.
- Assess change requests for security infrastructure such as firewalls, routers, switches.
- Conduct random inspections on security environment including desktops, laptops, servers, appliances, access points, etc. and providing a report on findings to the IT Security committee.
- Provide reports related to SOC- SIEM logs to IT management.
- Security Administration including granting of privileges, provision of access to selected systems, control of system-based profiles.
- Risk and audit assessment
- Assist in ensuring the security component of BC/DR plans are reviewed and updated.
- Assist in update security policies and procedures.
- Co-ordinating training awareness for security

**Qualifi**catio**ns and Experience Required**:

- IT Diploma or equivalent IT qualification
- MCSE qualification (or studying towards) would be preferred.
- CCNA, Security certification, auditing qualifications or Ethical Hacking Certification would be advantageous
- 2-3 years relevant experience in IT, Information Security / Auditing.
- 2-3 years of experience in Systems and Network Security operational environment would be advantageous.
