**Purpose of the Job**:
The purpose of the Lead: Group Reward Solutions role is to work alongside the Head: Reward & OE to provide
practice leadership on the design, development, execution and monitoring of Reward related solutions for the
Shoprite Group as well as the development and execution of a job evaluation, methodolog y, practices and
standards. This role is also responsible for the development of REMCO deliverables in alignment with REMCO
requirements. This role works closely with the OE, job profiling and benefits design practices, whilst supporting
and collaborating with the compensation team to ensure that intended Reward practices are aligned through the
execution stages serving to support the Shoprite Group employee value proposition.

**Job Objectives**:
**Employee Centric Delivery**
- Developing and maintaining a Remuneration strategy, policies, procedures and frameworks for the Shoprite

Group.
- Developing remuneration proposals to enhance the employee value proposition for the Group (I.e., fixed and

variable pay).
- Providing input into REMCO meetings and submissions including Executive Remuneration.
- Driving execution of Remuneration strategies, policies, procedures and frameworks with Senior Management,

and Compensation Execution team.
- Managing external remuneration benchmarking in conjunction with external data providers to ensure the

competitiveness of pay.
- Developing internal pay bands.
- Defining, developing and managing the expatriate pay model, policies, procedures and ensuring execution

thereof in collaboration with the Compensation Execution, Group Payroll and Operational teams.
- Ensuring fair and responsible pay though equal pay for equal work of value reviews and the management of

comparative ratios.
- Providing reward oversight and approval of job evaluation outcomes.

**People (Self, Team & Organisational)**
- Developing and leading the Reward team to deliver solutions and services to the business.
- Driving enablement of an innovative, agile and employee centric culture where employees are supported,

empowered and valued within the Reward team.
- Driving enablement of an employee wellness culture within the Reward team to ensure that employees are

supported mentally, physically and emotionally.
- Driving enablement of a culture of open and transparent communication within the Reward team to ensure

that employees are informed of developments timeously.

**Financial, Reporting & BI**
- Managing Reward costs whilst ensuring service delivery to the business.
- Driving the collection and use of remuneration and people data and business intelligence to transform the

delivery of Reward solutions and services.

Governance & Compliance
- Ensuring that Reward complies with relevant labour relations frameworks and legislation.
- Ensuring compliance to Organisational and legislative governance frameworks and standards.
- Developing Reward governance structures, policies, processes, frameworks and procedures in alignment with

King IV and other local legislation i.e., JSE listing requirements, Companies Act, Employment Equity Act (equal

pay for work for equal value) and SD9 (minimum wage) for the Shoprite Group.
- Ensuring adherence to Reward governance structures, policies, processes, frameworks and procedures in

conjunction with Compensation Execution, People Oversight and Governance and local people support.
- Providing Annual Remuneration Report inputs as part of the Annual Integrated Report.
- Creating awareness and managing statutory reporting within governance guidelines.
- Adhering to Shoprite risk management standards.
- Managing identification and mitigation of risks related to Reward.

**Future-Fit**
- Managing integration and effective flow of work with other solution areas and business.
- Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement in Reward processes.
- Identifying relevant technology requirements for Reward ensuring optimal utilisation thereof.
- Ensuring the utilisation of external remuneration data providers to provide relevant remuneration

benchmarks.

**Qualifications**:
Degree in Human Resources, Financial or equivalent - (essential).
- Post Graduate Degree in Human Resources, Financial or equivalent - (beneficial).

**Experience**:

- +6 years in a Senior Reward or equivalent role, leading Reward delivery, frameworks, policies, procedures

and guidelines - (essential).
- Experience within the FMCG, retail sector or similar - (preferred).

**Knowledge and Skills**:

- Demonstrable knowledge of HR practices within the FMCG, retail sector, understanding of the Reward

opportunities and challenges in a decentralized HR service delivery model within the retail environment, both

RSA and Non-RSA, expat - (essential).
