**Technical Buyer**

We are a well-established manufacturing company in the metal industry and are looking for an efficient, organised individual with an excellent understanding of procurement in the manufacturing environment to join our team. This individual will need to be organised, deadline driven and able to work independently.

**Core Competencies**:

- Deliveries must be tracked and all goods checked in.
- Negotiate with supplier’s prices and good terms.
- Ensure that all product information and prices are current.
- Liaise effectively with suppliers and manufacturers, as well as internal departments.
- Establish and maintain strong and trusting relationships with suppliers.
- Forecasts requirements and order products to meet sales demands.
- Ensure that material quality standards are maintained and are fit for purpose - buyer needs to understand quality processes and standards.
- Management and accounting for stock.
- Liaise with Accounts Department on weekly basis on all stock figures, returns and purchases.
- Reporting.

**Minimum Requirements**:

- 3 to 4 years experience in similar role.
- Diploma/ Qualification in purchasing/procurement.
- Basic technical knowledge of structural steel.
- Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Outlook.
- Database Knowledge advantageous but not required.
- Steel Industry experience advantageous but not required.
- Willing to work overtime to meet deadlines.
- Attention to detail.
- Good negotiation skills.
- Excellent verbal and communication skills.
- Reliable own transport.

**Salary**: R18,000.00 - R20,000.00 per month
