1. Mission / Core purpose of the Job
MTN is looking for a bright mind that will be responsible for, development, implementation, and monitoring of extraction processes for credit risk analytics data, ensuring efficiency, quality, and ease of use.
The holder of this position will, also perform data analysis relating to credit risk and billing operations, ranging across the credit lifecycle, translating data into valuable information to inform business decisions and to quantify the impact of those decisions.
Furthermore, the position entails the creation of dashboards that visualize the reports and analyses created by credit risk analysts.
Lastly, they would also play a crucial role in the configuration and testing processes to ensure accurate transfer of business rules into the credit vetting decision engine.

3. Key Performance Areas: Core, essential responsibilities / outputs of the position (KPAs)

The key performance areas include:
Data Extraction
- Development, implementation, and monitoring of data extraction processes for key credit risk analytics data, ensuring efficiency, quality, stability and ease of use.
- Play an active role in data warehousing and the building of dimensional marts.
- Liaise with data stewards across MTN SA to ensure accurate credit risk data of high quality in a format that is conducive to analysis.
- Sharing of information and knowledge to the data integration team and key members across Credit Risk Analytics to ensure business continuity.

Data Analysis
- Perform analysis relating to credit risk and billing operations, ranging across the credit lifecycle, translating data into valuable information to recommend and inform business decisions and to quantify the impact of those decisions.
- Support credit risk analysts to ensure accurate analysis and modelling.

System Configuration and Integration
- Accurate translation of business rules is configured and tested before implementation in the credit decisioning system.

Visualization
- Creation of dashboards that visualize the reports and analyses created by credit risk analysts.

Required Skills & Capabilities
- Adaptability to various platforms and programming languages.
- Strong problem solving and analytical abilities.
- Understanding in using analytical concepts and statistical techniques on data integrity: hypothesis development, designing tests/experiments, analysing data, drawing conclusions, and developing actionable recommendations.
- Good communication and collaboration skills.

4. Job Requirements (Education, Experience and Competencies)

**Education**:

- 3-year Degree in Information Technology, or Advanced Mathematics/Business Mathematics/Statistics/Risk Management, Honours preferable.
- Programming course and qualifications/certifications will be advantageous.

Experience:

- Graduate to 3 years’ relevant credit risk experience in data configuration, data management and analytics
- Software: Oracle SQL, SAS, Power Bi, R, Python, Presto/Hive.
