**JOB** **SUMMARY**
The primary function of the Account Manager, Sub-Saharan Africa, Global Sales EMEA is to manage and provides dedicated support to a targeted portfolio of complex GSO accounts. The position will support in the creation and execution of the customer strategy; maintain relationships with all of the accounts’ central BT buyers, Airlines and intermediaries. Interact with Marriott's Field Sales and Revenue Management teams. Responsibilities include: (1) overall coordination and execution of the RFP process, (2) implementation of BT initiatives, (3) facilitation of intermediary promotional and educational activities, (4) on-going account service, and (5) Direct accountability for sales activities within their assigned accounts and responsibility for the strategic plans.
**B**USINESS CONTEXT**
The role of the Account Manager, Sub-Saharan Africa, Global Sales EMEA is to support the GSO vision and mission by leveraging Marriott’s products and services as a team leader or team member within their assigned account portfolio. By utilizing the processes of strategic account management and team
- based sales, this position will be responsible for increasing Marriott’s preference, loyalty and profitable share within their assigned accounts and contribute to overall GSO success through the direct sales efforts of Revenue Generation and Value Creation
**CANDIDATE** **PROFILE**
- High school qualification; 5+ years’ experience in sales and marketing, guest services, front desk, or related professional area required.
- Total Account Management experience preferred.
- Digitally/Technically Savvy
**CORE WORK ACTIVITIES**

- Provide proactive account management. Maintain relationships with each accounts’ Hotel Program Manager, Travel Management Company, pricing intermediary, and other buyers globally who impact the accounts’ the buying process.
- Assist with the development and implementation of sales strategies i including (but not limited to):
- Project team RFPs
- Gap Analysis
- Create BT Account Workbook
- Provide ongoing quality control of account data and management reporting.
- Proactively partner with designated travel agencies, Pricing Account Services, and the GDS Team to audit rates for accuracy and accessibility.
- Provide support to properties on the BT segment (e.g. - customer trends, buying location changes; provide guidance regarding compelling business cases, etc.)
- Research and analyze account information and relevant data to identify new business opportunities in the all segments and partner to create innovative solutions for the customer.
- Provide project management oversight on the implementation of account-related initiatives in the all segment. (ie: Brand Recognition, Agency Visit, Account Recognition/Company of the month calendar updates, Business review slide semi-annual)
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date account information in MarRFP/SAPPs
- New Hotel/Pre-Opening Hotel, proactively research & identify properties that should be considered for inclusion in preferred programs, partner to present these hotels to Travel Buyer.
