**Position Description**:
Provides Leadership to the Regulatory Affairs team in SASSA by planning and implementing the regulatory targets, ensures regulatory compliance to support the regional business goals of Elanco, and defines compliance requirements through close cooperation with all relevant local regulatory authorities, associations, the EMEA Regulatory Affairs team, and other cross-functional support teams.
**Functions, Duties, Tasks**:
- Manage and development of staff by overseeing the recruitment, training, evaluating performance, defining, and assigning responsibilities, providing opportunities for career development, and improving departmental policies and procedures in accordance with company objectives.
- Represents the SASSA Regulatory team as a member of the respective Leadership Team and EMEA Regulatory Leadership Team as required.
- Plans, directs, and coordinates the SASSA regulatory activities by staying abreast of regulatory legislation developments in the region and establishing strategic and operational policies and goals, assigning responsibilities, managing team resources, coordinating customer needs, and ensuring successful implementation.
- Plans and coordinates the groups budget strategies and activities by setting objectives, monitoring policies and practices, making expenditure recommendations, allocating resources, and operating within set targets to control costs and ensure successful operations.
- Establish and maintain good relationship with South Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa regulatory agencies and relevant associations, as well as support different team members to establish and maintain regulatory authority relationship.
- Ensures the maintenance of proper regulatory records and adequate systems to perform timely, relevant, and accurate company financial reporting.
- Ensure regulatory compliance to product labels and promotional materials in the area.
**Minimum Qualification (education, experience and/or training, required certifications)**:
- Pharmaceutical or science degree with extensive relevant work experience within the animal health industry or related fields.

- Demonstrated strong communication and leadership skills
- Demonstrated business partner skills and ability to build strong working relationships across geographies and functions
- Strong project management and prioritization skills
