AREA: MIDRAND, GAUTENG

REPORTS TO: OPERATIONS MANAGER

**JOB DESCRIPTION**

**ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Develop and implement logistics strategies to optimize the supply chain and transportation processes
- Manage the flow of goods, services, and information from suppliers to customers, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality service
- Negotiate and manage contracts with suppliers, carriers, and third-party logistics providers
- Oversee the development and implementation of logistics technologies, including transportation management systems, warehouse management systems, and inventory management systems
- Ensure compliance with local regulations related to transportation, warehousing, and safety
- Monitor and analyze logistics performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions
- Manage and lead the logistics team to ensure efficient and effective operations
- Planning loads and their routes
- Tracking trucks out on the road
- Potential overtime and working weekends

**REQUIRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS**

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Matric
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field would be beneficial
- Full clean driver’s license
- Fully bilingual in English and Afrikaans

**EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE**
- Proven work experience as a Transportation Manager, Shipping Manager or similar role
- Logistics management
- Truck Knowledge
- Mechanical Knowledge **(Preferable Mercedes Benz)**:

- Hydraulics Experience
- Strong knowledge of transportation, warehousing, and inventory management processes
- Experience in negotiating and managing contracts with suppliers and carriers
- Solid knowledge of supply chain management
- Experience preparing and tracking orders
- Advanced analytical, problem solving and decision making abilities;
- Proven and exemplary leadership skills;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to supervise and train staff
- Familiarity with local regulations related to transportation, warehousing and safety
- Own car

**Salary**: R35,000.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Midrand, Gauteng: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- Hydraulic (required)
- Mercedes Benz Truck Experience (required)

**Language**:

- English and Afrikaans fluently (required)
