**Geology - Engineering**

**Primary Position Purpose**
- Engineering Geology specialist for the site team.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Engineering Geology specialist for the site team, to be full-time in Lesotho during excavation of the Drill and blast and TBM waterway tunnels, shafts, gate shaft gallery, Lake tap and access adits and intake tunnels.
- Oversee and conduct geological mapping, evaluation of excavation & rock conditions, and record keeping for the works
- Review and prepare as-built geological drawings for tunnels, shafts, access adits, tunnel and access adit portals
- Lead geology team on site
- Oversee sub-surface investigation at client’s lake tap - barrage drilling and review sub-surface investigation reports and sampling, logging and geology data interpretation
- Technical support to site team during excavation
- Mentoring junior geologists

**Recommended Qualifications, Skills And Experience**
- Should have at least ten (10) years’ involvement in the investigation, design and construction of excavations, tunnels and associated works, including tunnels in hard rock.
- Must have a degree in Engineering Geology or equivalent, and have Professionally Registered Status (SACNASP, or approved equivalent).
- Preferably familiar with NATM in terms of tunnel geological assessment during excavation and instrumentation and monitoring systems and data interpretation
- Must be familiar with advanced tunnel geological software and systems

**Interpersonal Skills**
- Adventurous personality (i.e. enjoys fieldwork in remote locations).
- Available to undertake fieldwork assignments for extended periods.
- Independent worker.
