**Role purpose**:
To create a governance framework and oversee the implementation and monitoring of risk, compliance and regulatory controls across the:
VodaPay e-commerce ecosystem which comprises of various mini-apps and the Digital Lifestyle Services portfolio, which comprise of multiple internal content services, DCB and WASP products and services.
To manage all the Regulatory, Risk and Compliance requirements across all the new and existing products and services across these business units locally and internationally, where applicable.
To ensure that all critical and high new business risks have been identified and mitigated before any product, service, promotion or campaign is launch within Vodacom South Africa (SA) across the Fintech landscape.
To ensure that all regulatory and compliance requirements (both locally and internationally) are adhered to, as it relates to E-Commerce, ensuring that the VodaPay super app is able to benchmark itself against global world-class standards and processes.
To ensure that new business risk, regulatory and compliance best practise knowledge is transferred to our local markets who will be using similar E-Commerce and digital platforms.
To assist in the development and implementation of the governance, risk management and compliance strategy in the Fintech that aligns and supports the organisations strategy.

**Your responsibilities will include**:
Engagements with various internal key stakeholders such as Group Privacy, Group CyberSecurity, Group Risk and Compliance, Vodafone AML and Privacy and Mpesa OPCOs to create robust customized frameworks, policies and processes for VFS
Engagements with other Vodacom/Vodafone OPCOs and MPesa markets to leverage learnings.
Represent Vodacom at applicable internal forums and external forums such as PASA as and when required.
Liaise with External Regulatory Stakeholders such as PASA, SARB, FSCA and IFWG where relevant.
Engage with OPCOs who are keen to replicate the VodaPay payments platform in their markets to share knowledge and learnings.
Engage with the Vodacom Technology teams to ensure that data is housed in accordance with local laws and on par with international best standards, GDPR, where applicable.
Assist in the creation and implementation of the compliance training and awareness program
Create a risk and compliance culture by identifying weaknesses in systems and processes and proactively embedding governance principles, values and sound business practice into existing systems, products, services and processes.
Financial Services regulation analysis and documentation
Responsible for analysis and documentation of regulatory compliance requirements especially as it relates to e-commerce and digital solutions.
Develop risk management plans for relevant legislation and maintain a regulatory universe.
Develop appropriate policies to supplement and enforce the governance framework.
Assessing the risk of changes to Regulatory Environment
Identify and track changes to existing and new laws and trends in the industry both locally and internationally.
Impact analysis across business processes and systems
Fraud Prevention
Proactively embedding fraud prevention controls into online processes
Conducting root-cause analysis on suspicious transactions identified and enhancing the existing controls
Engaging with various departments across Vodacom to creating and embedding the cyber security, data security and data governance frameworks into the E-commerce and ditigal business.
In addition, considering global trends from other markets such as Asia, India, Singapore who have established e-commerce and digital solutions and adopting some of the risk and compliance solutions to enhance customer experience.
Developing a risk based regulatory controls such as AML/KYC framework for e-commerce and online sales to ensure the customer journeys are aligned with global best practice.

**Technical / Professional Qualifications**:
3 year Degree or National Diploma essential in BCom, LLB, BA Law, or related and
A minimum of 8 years relevant experience in risk and compliance within a fintech or e-commerce environment.
Experience in cyber security and online security controls with specific focus on online payments
Experience in dealing with WASP and DCB third parties.
Post Graduate or Master’s Degree in Digital Business would be advantageous

**Core competencies, knowledge, and experience**:
This requires specialist experience and knowledge of the e-commerce and online sales ecosystems.
Sound knowledge of information security and data governance framework is essential.
Robust fraud mitigation for e-commerce transactions.
Expert knowledge of payments, lending and or credit processes across Fintech landscape.
Ability to influence change across the business and develop a culture of governance and compliance.
Ability to challenge status quo in a mature manner
Skills to translate regulatory knowledge into sound business practices.
