**Job Purpose**:
To identify social and education needs in schools. Design and develop programmes to address social challenges, coordinate and establish forums with government departments and NGOs to work collaboratively in schools. Coordinate, manage and monitor the implementation of the interventions by selected stakeholders.

**Project Management**

**Planning**
- Conduct feasibility/ baseline studies.
- Conduct social skills assessment through interviews and questionnaires.
- Conduct an induction to the school and other relevant stakeholders such as Department of Education
- Design and develop social welfare projects to be implemented in schools
- Prepare data of OVCs in the school that do not receive grants and are without birth certificates, identify and involve government departments and NGO’s to assist.
- Identify learners with social issues, conduct counsel and referrer were necessary.
- Establish a database for relevant, best practice NGOs and institutions to implement the programs.
- Establish and manage forums to address different challenges in schools.
- Facilitate the identification and appointment of the professional service provider to implement the intervention program.
- Develop project plan together with the school and service provider including timeframes for all project activities (afternoons, Saturday or during school holidays)

**Project Implementation**
- Manage stakeholders and conduct advocacy on social programmes.
- Monitoring and evaluation of program
- Manage project budget utilisation
- Maintain proper budget reports.
- Manage the delivery of projects according to the project plan.
- Review and update time plans when necessary
- Coordinate and chair stakeholder meetings

**Quality Control**
- Monitor and measure the quality of the intervention program using the monitoring tool
- Measure expenditure against the budget
- With assistance of the SMT solve challenges on commitment and attendance of educators and learners to the programme
- Ensure that service provider issue certificates of attendance to the educators.

**Reporting**
- Compile and submit monthly or quarterly reports as per agreement with the funder on the MoU
- Complete the monitoring tool when attending training programs

**Others**
- Compiling funding proposals and grants to potential donors
- Undertake individual counselling for learners and educators
- Encourage community participation in projects
- Compile a detailed profile for the school and community
- Encourage and manage volunteerism in schools
- Plan and manage events
- Filing of all projects related documents
- Perform any other duty as may be required from time to time

**Education, Skills, and Experience**
- Bachelor of social work degree or BA Social Science (major in social work)
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent project management skills
- Good report writing skills
- Excellent planning and organising skills
- Stakeholder Management
- Interpersonal, presentation and report writing skills.
- At least 5 years of experience practising as a Social Worker with a focus on children at the community and school levels.
- Extensive experience in the field of special needs (substance and sexual abuse, child abduction, life skills, youth development, teenage pregnancy and OVCs)
- Valid driver’s license with driving experience.
- Registration with the relevant body (SACSSP) will be an added advantage.
