Junior Storeman

The storeman is responsible for managing inventory and warehouse operations efficiently, ensuring smooth production processes and minimizes costs. Continuously seeking process improvements, the storeman plays a vital role in enhancing efficiency and productivity within the company's supply chain.

**Based in Dunoon**

**Responsibilities**:
Formal training in warehouse operations, inventory management, or logistics.

Courses in health and safety, particularly for handling heavy equipment or hazardous materials.

Training in the use of inventory management software and tools, such as forklifts or pallet jacks.

**Inventory Management**:

- Maintain accurate inventory records with mínimal discrepancies.
- Ensure adequate stock levels to support production and operational needs.
- Timely conduct monthly stocktaking activities
- Minimize stock wastage and obsolescence.
- Create purchase orders and send invoices
- Invoices is captured and sent in for payment

**Receiving & dispatching**:

- Timely receipt and inspection of incoming goods.
- Efficient dispatch of materials to internal departments or external customers.
- Minimize errors in receiving and dispatching processes.

**Warehouse Organization**:

- Maintain cleanliness and safety standards in the warehouse.
- Implement measures to prevent damage or loss of inventory.
- Maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing materials.
- Generate regular reports on inventory levels, stock movements, and other relevant metrics.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to inventory management.
- Monitor and ensure that parts are booked out in accordance with the job card requirements for bus maintenance or repairs.
- Liaise with suppliers regarding parts and pricing.
- Optimize warehouse layout for efficient storage and retrieval of materials.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety standards in the warehouse.

**Team Collaboration**:

- Collaborate effectively with other employees and manager to meet their material requirements.
- Provide support and guidance to colleagues regarding inventory-related matters.
- Contribute to a positive and productive work environment within the store keeping team.
- Attend all toolbox talks.

**Adhoc Tasks**:

- Perform irregular, one time and special request tasks related to the company.
- Perform activities as stand-in for colleague or supervisor as required from time to time.

**Level of education**
- A high school diploma or equivalent (Grade 12 or NQF Level 4)
- Job related formal training
- Formal training in warehouse operations, inventory management, or logistics.
- Courses in health and safety, particularly for handling heavy equipment or hazardous materials.
- Training in the use of inventory management software and tools, such as forklifts or pallet jacks.

**Job related work experience**
- Previous experience working in a warehouse or inventory management role, typically ranging from 1 to 3 years.
- Experience in operating warehouse equipment, like forklifts, and familiarity with inventory systems
