Our client who is a leading financial institution is currently seeking a Group IT Audit Specialist to join the team.

**Responsibilities**:

- Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of controls and processes to mitigate identified risks.
- Participate in the planning and execution of IT audit projects, including identifying risks, developing audit procedures, and documenting work performed.
- Provide technical guidance to other members of the audit team, including training and mentoring as needed.
- Prepare reports and presentations summarizing audit results, including key findings, recommendations, and action plans.
- Collaborate with IT and other business functions to ensure alignment and coordination of cyber security initiatives
- Evaluating IT Controls: The individual should be able to evaluate the effectiveness of IT controls in place to mitigate risks. This includes reviewing policies, procedures, and controls related to access management, change management, backup and recovery, and other areas.
- Planning and Executing IT Audits: The individual should be able to plan and execute IT audits based on risk assessments and evaluation of IT controls. This includes defining audit objectives, developing audit procedures, and documenting audit work performed.
- Conducting Data Analysis: The individual should be able to analyse data to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies that may indicate risks or control weaknesses. This includes using data analytics tools to extract, transform, and analyse data from various sources.
- Reporting and Communicating Results: The individual should be able to prepare audit reports and communicate results to management and other stakeholders. This includes presenting key findings, recommendations, and action plans for addressing identified risks and control weaknesses.
- Staying Up-to-Date with IT Industry Developments: The individual should stay up-to-date with emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in IT auditing and information security. This includes attending training and professional development opportunities and staying informed on changes to regulations and standards
- Conducting Cyber Security Audits: The IT Auditor should be able to review and assess the organization's cyber security controls, policies, and procedures. This includes identifying potential vulnerabilities and recommending controls to mitigate risks.
- Automation and Scripting for Continuous Monitoring: Leverage automation skills and scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell, SQL, C) to develop and implement automated monitoring solutions for detecting security events, anomalies, and suspicious activities. Assist with automating routine tasks/audits to improve efficiency and accuracy in monitoring and response processes.
- Analysing Data to Identify Security Threats: The IT Auditor should be able to analyse data to identify security threats, including detecting patterns and anomalies that may indicate malicious activity.
- Evaluating Technical General Controls: The IT Auditor should be able to evaluate the organization's technical general controls, including system configurations, access controls, and disaster recovery plans. This includes reviewing controls related to network security, data encryption, and vulnerability management.
- Providing Cyber Security Guidance: The IT Auditor should be able to provide guidance on cyber security best practices and emerging technologies to improve the organization's security posture. This includes staying up-to-date with the latest industry developments and standards, and providing guidance to IT and other business functions on how to implement security controls.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Relevant professional certifications such as CISA, CISSP, CISM, or CRISC.
- At least 5 years of experience in IT auditing, cyber security, or related fields.
- Strong knowledge of cyber security frameworks such as NIST, ISO, and COBIT.
- Proficiency in using data analytics tools and techniques to identify and analyse patterns and trends.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: R1,200,000.00 per month
