DEPARTMENT OF AUDITING - CIA
POST TITLE: SENIOR LECTURER (ONE POST)- The University of Pretoria's commitment to quality makes us one of the top research Universities in the country and gives us a competitive advantage in international science and technology development._
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lecturing at undergraduate and postgraduate level;
- Academic administration and management;
- Supervising of postgraduate students, and
- Scientific research and publications in accredited academic journals.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- A Master’s degree in a financial sciences related field and registration with the Institute of Internal Auditors as a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA); OR
- A relevant doctorate degree in a financial sciences related field;
- Lecturing experience; and
- Experience in research and/or involvement in research activities.
COMPETENCIES (SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND BEHAVIOURAL ATTRIBUTES):
- Appropriate language and communication skills;
- Computer literacy;
- Ability to effectively function in a group;
- Relevant knowledge of research methodologies; and
- Skills and knowledge for preparing students for the examination.
ADDED ADVANTAGES AND PREFERENCES:
- Experience and certification or qualifications in information technology (IT) related field;
- Lecturing or research experience in IT risks, controls, security and audit holding a CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor) or similar;
- Experience in the facilitation and management of large student groups;
- Experience in blended learning practices;
- Experience in the guidance of postgraduate students’ research;
- Lecturing experience at postgraduate level;
- Publications in accredited academic journals;
- The potential to develop into a scholar in the discipline;
- Involvement in professional activities where applicable; and
The annual remuneration package will be commensurate with the incumbent’s level of appointment, as determined by UP policy guidelines. UP subscribes to the BESTMED and UMVUZO medical aid scheme and contributes 50% of the applicable monthly premium.
