ENERGY Principal Technician

**Requirements**:

- National Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
- Eligible for registration at ECSA as a Professional

Engineering Technician.
- At least 5 - 8 years post qualification relevant

SCADA engineering experience including the

testing and commissioning of automation systems.
- A clear understanding of the Occupational Health &
Safety (OHS) Act and Construction Regulations.
- High degree of computer literacy.
- A valid code B or EB driver’s licence.

**Physical requirements**:

- The nature of the job requires the incumbent to be physically fit.
- The incumbent cannot be colour blind.
- Ability to stand for long hours during working day.
- Medically fit to work at heights.

**Special conditions**:

- Required to work in all weather conditions.
- Required to work outside normal working hours

during emergencies and overtime, and will be

required to do standby duties if and when required.
- Will be required to participate in the Essential Users

Vehicle Scheme.
- Will be required to be appointed as a Responsible

Person in terms of the NRS Switching Regulations.

electrical substations.
- Researching and implementing new modems, radios,

fibre and wireless LAN technologies and their
