**Responsibilities**:
1. **Data Strategy and Governance**
- Develop and implement the organization’s data strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Establish and enforce data governance policies to ensure data accuracy, security, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Lead efforts to maintain GDPR, HIPAA, or other applicable data standards.

2. **Data Analysis and Insights**
- Oversee the design and delivery of data models and analytics solutions to support business units.
- Analyze data trends to identify risks, opportunities, and areas for improvement in underwriting, claims, and customer experience.
- Provide actionable insights to enhance decision-making processes across the organization.

3. **Technology and Tools**
- Manage data platforms, tools, and systems, ensuring optimal performance and scalability.
- Collaborate with IT teams to integrate advanced analytics tools, machine learning models, and business intelligence platforms.
- Evaluate and implement emerging technologies, such as AI and predictive analytics, to enhance insurance processes.

4. **Team Leadership and Collaboration**
- Lead and mentor a team of data analysts, scientists, and engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
- Work closely with key stakeholders, including actuarial, underwriting, claims, and customer service teams, to understand data needs.
- Act as the primary liaison between data teams and executive leadership, presenting data-driven insights and strategies.

5. **Risk Management and Reporting**
- Monitor data to identify and mitigate fraud, operational risks, and compliance issues.
- Prepare detailed reports and dashboards for stakeholders, highlighting key metrics and performance indicators.
- Support regulatory reporting and audits by providing accurate and timely data.

**Skill sets required**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant certification is preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in data management, analytics, or a similar role, preferably within the insurance industry.
- Proven track record of leading data initiatives and managing cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in data analytics tools (e.g., SQL, Python, R, SAS).
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Qlik.
- Knowledge of cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Familiarity with predictive modeling, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information to non-technical stakeholders.
