Job Title- Operator Spare- Organisational Unit- Mondi South Africa -> Merebank Operations -> MBK PM31- Position Type- Permanent- Minimum years relevant experience- 3-4 years- Location- Merebank - Durban, KZN ZA (Primary)- % Travel- No Travel Required- Job Advert**PURPOSE OF THE POSITION**:
Reporting to the Production Foreman, the incumbent of this position will be responsible for the safe operation and monitoring across various positions within the paper manufacturing operations.

**SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE**:

- 3 years papermaking experience.
- UWF papermaking experience will be advantageous.
- Process control experience will be advantageous.

**QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERTISE**:

- Matric with Maths and Science
- Chem. Eng. Diploma / ABZ Papermaking / National Diploma Pulp & Paper Technology will be advantageous.

**LICENCES/MANDATORY TRAINING**:

- Semi Portal
- Overhead Crane
- Forklift

**FUNCTIONAL OUTPUTS**:

- Responsible for the operation and monitoring of the various operational areas within the paper machine (when & as required) in order minimize disruption to production whilst safely producing paper to required quality specifications
- Assist with Paper machine Operations & planned shuts when required
- Troubleshoots operational problems in the plant to achieve total efficiency, production outputs and quality targets
- Proactively carries out regular plant inspections and ensures that defects (Safety, Plant & Quality) are highlighted & rectified
- Collaborates with the maintenance team to carry out maintenance work in a safe and efficient manner
- Maintains a high level of Safety, Environmental awareness, and housekeeping throughout the plant
- Trains & develops operational staff
- Maintains Morale & discipline within the team
