**Job Advert Summary**:
The Scrum Master Level II is a leader and coach for other scrum masters and Agile Teams in Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe, ensuring that the agreed Agile processes are being followed. Senior Scrum Master works with other scrum masters to resolve high impact impediments that span multiple teams. S/he is an adept coach who creates the environment for high-performing team dynamics, continuous flow, and relentless improvement.

The Senior Scrum Master works with the extended Scrum Master community, including the SAFe Program Consultant, Release Train Engineer, Product Owners and Architecture to increase the effectiveness of business agility across the enterprise.

The Senior Scrum Master will be expected to design and develop training content to fill gaps identified in the ongoing agile transformation program. S/he will deliver these to ensure the execution teams are up to date with scrum best practices.

In addition, the Senior scrum master will monitor and maintain a performance management system for teams in scope.

**Minimum Requirements**:
**Education**:

- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Computer Science or Information Science or Information Technology
- Certified Advanced Scrum Master (e.g. Professional Scrum Master III or equivalent)
- Certified in delivering Agile related certification training.

**Experience**:
**_ Essential_**
- More than 8 years’ experience leading teams as a Scrum Master in an Agile environment in IT, Financial Services or Consulting.
- Extensive knowledge in the software development life cycle (SDLC)

**_Preferred_**
- Project Management Professional (PMP), Prince2 certification
- 8 or more years’ experience as part of an Agile software delivery team as a Business Analyst, Product Owner, Agile Project Manager.

**Knowledge and Skills (maximum of 10)**:

- Advanced knowledge in Scrum/Agile software development methodologies including Scaling Frameworks like SAFe.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:
**Coaching and mentoring, design and development of training content, Measurement and Growth, Problem Solving, Continuous improvement, Maintaining Quality.**

**Coaching and mentoring Scrum masters**

The Scrum Master Level II is a coach and mentor of scrum masters to enable them to grow as facilitators and improve performance of their teams in the areas of quality, predictability, flow, and velocity. S/he is also a coach to the Product Owners and the Portfolio members.

**Design and development of scrum training content**

Custom training programs are designed for wide audiences and invariably leave gaps that need to be identified and solutioned for. The Senior Scrum Master will be responsible for identifying such gaps in scrum practices and designing and delivering bespoke training programs to address these.

**Measurement and Growth**

Monitor and maintain the performance of the scrum masters and their teams by developing measurement systems that address completion of committed work. S/he can guide on appropriate corrective action to ensure timeliness and quality, foster an environment with high team morale through celebrating small wins and accomplishments whilst reminding the teams of mission/value statements. S/he encourages and protects the self-organizing scrum teams.

**Problem Solving**

Many blocking issues will be beyond the scrum master or team’s authority or may require support from other teams. The Senior Scrum Master supports the teams in addressing and eliminating these issues to improve the likelihood of achieving the objectives of the Iteration.

**Continuous improvement**

Helps the scrum masters and team improve and take responsibility for their actions.

Teaches problem-solving techniques and helps the team become better problem-solvers for themselves.

Focuses on ever-improving team dynamics and performance and coaches the scrum masters and teams in self-management.

Helps resolve interpersonal conflicts and challenges and identify opportunities for growth.

Addresses people problems using established internal team processes.

**Maintaining Quality**

Fosters the culture of technical discipline and craftsmanship that is the hallmark of effective Agile teams.
