**Duties**
- Accurately forecast raw material, ingredients or packaging requirements including promotions and new launches.
Accurately forecast on non-stock items requirements.
Ensure purchase orders reach suppliers with sufficient lead time to ensure on time delivery.
Engage with suppliers to ensure continuous supply and on time delivery while managing stock levels for availability and working capital management.
Check that stock takes are accurate to eliminate out of stock or over stock situations and identify slow moving or redundant stock.
Identify procurement challenges and opportunities local and global supply chain trends - ensuring alternative suppliers/products have been identified for contingency cover, better prices, quality etc.
Facilitate cost savings projects.
Assess STD cost vs Actual Cost.
Track price changes and understand reasons - discuss or negotiate with suppliers.
Urgently communicate all potential shortages or unavailability of materials to all affected teams.
Ensure deliveries correspond to order quantities, prices and delivery dates.
Ensure paperwork corresponds before handing it in to the Finance Department and all discrepancies are sorted beforehand.
Follow up on material rejections - replace or credits.
Check for eliminations that will affect stock holding - discuss with Commercial.**Educational Requirements.**
- Diploma/Degree with emphasis on logistics, stock or value chain optimization.
- **Experience Required.**
- At least 5-10 years FMCG buying experience.
Knowledge of perishables, dry goods and packaging procurement principles and procedures advantageous.
Experience of imports principles and procedures advantageous.
- **Attributes (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)**
- Prepared to openly and proactively engage with suppliers and negotiate on product availability, delivery & price.
Able to develop, implement and deliver on effective profit improvement procurement plans.
Overall proactive approach to ensure challenges sustainably addressed and/or opportunities exploited for advantage**Package & Remuneration**:
