Sales Representative

**Job Description** Scope and general purpose of the role**:
**Engage daily with existing customer base, distributors, end, converters and authoritative bodies and organizations related to reflective materials. Specifying Avery products with the key parties mentioned. Promote sales and distribution with a national network of contacts. Increase product portfolio and investment by distributors and converters throughout Sub Saharan Africa. Increase market share by delivering high levels of service to the network.**
**Engagement and targets**:
- ** Execute a needs analysis to ensure that all sales target are met with converters and distribution partners**
- ** Conceptualize new and innovative strategies to achieve sales targets**
- ** Follow up on new sales leads and build detailed project pipeline with prospective values**
- ** Actively pursue new sales opportunities and develop niche sales strategies to ensure growth**
- ** Calling on customers minimum four calls per day**
- ** Analyse/recognise potential growth opportunities in the market and drive to fruition**
- ** Leverage relationships with civil engineers / project managers/ brand owners at mining entities and end users and printing companies to specify Avery Dennison as the brand of choice for both reflective and graphics materials**
- ** Increase footprint and market share for the brand in specified area of responsibility**
- ** Actively engage with converters to identify new opportunities**
- ** Leverage local distribution network and converter connect for projects to engage with supply of materials**
- ** Specifying Avery Dennison materials in contracts, road sign and mining projects**
- ** Actively increase pipeline for quarterly and annual sales**
- ** Provide input to S&OP meetings (discuss accuracy of the forecasts, slow moving and obsolete stock and identify crisis areas)**
- ** Advise distributors and converters on adequate stock holding**
- ** Assist with sales forecasts on a monthly basis internally and with distributor network and direct sales customer base**
**Customer Centricity**:
- ** Provide product and brand training with distributor, converter and engineer network**
- ** Provide technical advice and solutions to customers when required**
- ** Take informed decisions regarding terms and conditions of pricing, rebates, COD pricing and discounts**
- ** Log customer complaints within 24hrs of complaint being received**
- ** Conduct product trials at customers when required, and help technical department**
- ** Update customer price lists, and ensure prices are updated within Avery Dennison’s operating systems**
- ** Follow complaints till conclusion, and advise customers of results and follow up action**
- ** Assess materials when there are customer complaints**
- ** Ensure that all customer demands are met**
- ** Liaise with customers regarding their account status**
- ** Follow up on outstanding payments**
**Qualifications** Pre-Requisite Experiences**:
- ** 7 years minimum external in field sales and customer service experience in reflectives and signage industry**
- ** Thorough understanding of the local market and customer base.**
- ** Minimum of 7 years experience in three tiered interaction level distribution, converters, civil engineering and governmental agencies or end users**
- ** Interaction on various projects and tenders in an advisory capacity relating to specification of materials**
**Formal Qualifications**:
- ** Grade 12**
- ** Relevant sales or marketing qualification would be an advantage**
- ** Command of Portuguese would be an advantageous to trade with Sub Saharan African countries**
