In this role you will contribute to the success of the Global Shared Services (GSS) through exceptional performance, quality output, continuous improvements, and value-added contributions that enables the Anglo American and De Beers Group of Companies to focus on their core activities.
The role falls under Transactional Finance Services (TFS) portfolio and undertakes to build solid partnerships, provide optimal customer service, ensure strong controls execution, and drive end-to-end alignment and compliance to, organisational values, policies, scope of services, service level agreements (SLAs), business processes and GSS strategies.
**Job Description**:
- Ensure effective and efficient service delivery of all Accounts Payable activities related to the scanning, classification of documentation, processing of invoices, queries and reconciliations to the Business Units in line with the Service Level Agreements.
**Under the leadership of the Accounts Coordinator, your responsibilities will include**:
**Operational Delivery**:
- Review and release payments / journals in the ERP systems
- Review and approve payment proposals
- Ensure delivery of high quality and timely Accounts Payable deliverables that meet the requirements of Line Managers, Project team, Supply Chain and Embedded Finance
- Ensure compliance to relevant policies and procedures
- Assist the Sec Accounts Payable Coordinator to manage the rollout of new/updated policies and procedures applicable to the Accounts Payable team
- Identify and monitor escalated query trends
- Ensure effective communication and conflict management with peers and stakeholders
- Assist Accounts Payable Coordinator to pro-actively meet targets as per the SLA.
**People Interaction**:
- Drive and improve business performance initiatives
- Team / stakeholder Interaction (Encouraging collaboration in direct team and wider AS Organisation)
- Manage and control costs
**Continuous improvement/ Optimisation**:
- Develop strategic initiatives to ensure continuous improvement and innovation that is sustainable & cost effective in the Accounts Payable function
- Build an environment of continuous improvement/ optimisation and change management
- Improve systems and processes by extracting information and compiling new reports and or existing standard reports on best practice systems and processes to identify and meet organisational needs.
**Client and Stakeholder Management**:
- Establish and maintain Business Partner relationships with the appropriate parties to facilitate the optimal functioning of the Functional Area
- Responsible for standardisation of delivery to the business by supporting the service management framework
**This role is on a band 7 and reports to the Accounts Payable Coordinator.**
**Qualifications
- You will need to have**:
- BCOM Accounting Degree/ National Diploma or equivalent B degree at a recognised institution
- 5 years relevant experience
**Experience**:
- Intermediate Excel knowledge and experience
- SAP experience (non-negotiable)
- Must be analytical and be able to deal with complex queries
- Must be able to communicate with stakeholders at all levels
- Additional Information
- Excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on detail
- Management ability
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office required
- Demonstrated leadership in coaching, mentoring leading, and motivating teams
- An incumbent must be cleared by the relevant credit checks
