**Job brief**

We are looking for a Church Administrator to join our team and help our organization run as efficiently as possible by overseeing daily operations.

A Church Administrator’s responsibilities include keeping accurate financial records, supervising staff and volunteers, and managing the church’s schedule of events.

Ultimately, you will work with different staff and volunteer members to ensure the church operates as efficiently as possible.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities of a Church Administrator**
- Prepares the payroll for all employees of the church.
- Keeps personnel records; hires and fires church administrative staff members.
- Maintains office equipment and office supplies.
- Supervises other clerical or administrative staff members.
- Assists the pastor with communications by handling written correspondence and phone messages.
- Manages the church’s social media, newsletter, magazine, bulletin, announcements and other publicity.
- Keeps the church schedule for the use of the fellowship hall for weddings and gatherings and or other special courses.
- Tracks church attendance and keeps reports on file.
- Keeps the pastor’s appointment calendar and the calendars of associate pastors
- Ensures that the physical buildings belonging to the church are well-maintained by contacting repairmen and overseeing their work.
- Keeps an inventory of all church property including vehicles and equipment.
- Schedules the cleaning crew and landscapers who keep the church property maintained inside and out.
- Administers the records of the church and official documents.
- Answers questions from members and other staff regarding administrative processes.
- Keeps the master church calendar and makes sure there are no conflicts.

**Requirements and skills**
- Proven work experience as a Church Administrator or similar role
- Strong computer skills and ability to operate office equipment
- Ability to handle stress and problem solve
- Ability to keep confidential and sensitive information
- Relevant training and/or certifications as a Church Administrator

**Required Knowledge and Abilities**
- Demonstrates excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Displays strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Has exceptional mathematical abilities.
- Pays close attention to detail and has excellent record-keeping abilities.
- Possesses strong technological abilities and has knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
- Has the ability to operate standard office equipment.
- Possesses the ability to skillfully coordinate the work of a large group of volunteers.
- Has knowledge of and supports the church’s mission statement, beliefs and commitment.

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Cape Town, Western Cape: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (preferred)
