My client is looking for a dedicated and organized individual to serve as a Pastor Secretary in their vibrant Church located in Cape Town City Centre. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Pastor and assisting in the smooth operation of church activities. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Personal

- The Applicant must possess a friendly and welcoming disposition and be of Christian culture.

- Have a suitable background in working in a Christian believe culture, Office, and Congregation.

- Must be an individual with religious practices in the Christian faith.

- Have an excellent ability to multitask

- The candidate must be someone who honors confidentiality.

Skills and Qualifications

- Minimum Matric Certificate

- At least 5 10 years working experience in an administrative environment.

- Excellent administration skills.

- Valid drivers license

- Be able to use own initiative and creativity.

- Must be well versed in Office 365 and Microsoft applications.

- Experience in some form project management

- Experience or ability to plan church events and engage with ministries accordingly.

- Have good social media know-how, as well as ability to update social media pages.

- Have experience in marketing and management of social media platforms.

- Ability to update and manage church website.

Tasks

- Maintain Pastors diary; manage appointments and reminders.

- Attend to visitors ensuring refreshments etc. when required to do so.

- Continuously update membership database

- Maintain records on all information of members, eg. Confirmation and death registers

- Phone and contact members on their birthdays including updating records.

- Prepare all certificates and forms eg. Registration forms, baptism certificates.

- Prepare weekly pew leaflets.

- Type minutes and prepare documents for meetings and services.

- Type up year plan and distribute to relevant people.

- Make sure all documents are filed both physically and electronically.

- Ensure that required stationery are always kept in stock.

- Must prepare application forms for funding projects.

- Ensure that announcements and reminders reach people by means of pew leaflet, newsletter, and electronically (WhatsApp, Email, and other forms of Messaging in time).

- Must be willing to work 1 Saturday per month or when there is a function.

- Attend to ad-hoc duties from time to time.
