We produce a wide range of high quality products for customers across Africa and around the world using maize as raw material. The products manufactured at our mills are essential ingredients in the manufacturing processes of various different companies, in many industries such as food and beverages, paper manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, building materials and adhesives.

We are currently seeking a Demand Planning Manager to join our Ingrain Supply Chain Team. The incumbent will be responsible **t**o optimise demand requirements for Barloworld Ingrain in terms of quantity and timing of product availability by accurately defining the customer demand for products across all business sectors based on their historical sales, seasonality and trends; and to facilitate and support the Sales & Marketing Team in delivering best in class demand forecasts for Ingrain.

**Key Deliverables**

**Strategic / Financial**
- Provide input in the development of the Supply Chain strategy in line with the business' strategic objectives

**Operational**
- Develop effective forecast models based on industry trends and demand patterns.
- Manage and update the Ingrain customer forecast monthly to reflect actual sales demand by customer and product (Customer Stock Item Code).
- In collaboration with internal stakeholders, develop, implement and maintain effective systems, processes, tools and techniques, for accurate inventory and supply chain decisions.
- Facilitate monthly collaboration process with relevant internal stakeholders (i.e. Sales, Distribution and Logistics and customer to enable smooth demand fulfilment.
- Monitor and manager model stock and safety stock requirements, based on movement in the marketplace for seasonality, trends and historical sales.
- Provide regular update and reporting on demand planning and forecast for informed decision making.
- Ensure informed and accurate forecast demand based on market insights and trends to support Supply Planning operational efficiency.
- Predict short-and longer-term future trends based on anticipated variables that will affect stated demand.
- Ensure smooth demand fulfilment through effective collaboration with relevant key stakeholders, understanding of planning processes and its impact on the supply chain, effective scenario planning, accurate demand planning, as well as timeous resolution of barriers to deliver.
- Use data and other insights to improve demand forecast accuracy as well as to proactively identify and mitigate risks that may impact operational efficiency and business' ability to meet customer demands.

**Stakeholders (internal & external customers, suppliers, shareholders, communities)**
- Partner with customers to fulfil their objectives, with the full support of the Sales & Marketing Teams at Ingrain.
- Collaborate with Ingrain team members to elicit information which will contribute to "owning the customer from order to delivery” - and resolving complaints.

**Minimum Requirements**

**Qualification**
- Matric or Equivalent Essential
- Degree/3yr Diploma/Equivalent in Supply Chain Management/Commerce/Equivalent
- Post Graduate qualification advantageous

**Work Expereince**
- Minimum of 5yr's experience in a demand planning/forecasting role
- Supply Management value chain
- People management experience
- Experience in dealing with key internal and external stakeholders
- Supply Chain/Manufacturing/Production/equivalent
