Cape Town, South Africa SA Commercial (Pty) Ltd Full time

**The main duties will include**:

- Develop the Network and Communications strategy with a 3-year view on assets, standardisation, technology transformation and has been accountable for the lifecycle roadmap of Network assets and software to ensure support and license compliance annually.
- Create and maintain a resilient Network architecture.
- Establish the networking environment by designing system configuration, directing system installation, and defining, documenting and enforcing system standards.
- Manage the internal and divisional service and quality by monitoring Network performance throughout the organisation.
- Manage and review the technical planning and configuration of new networking capabilities being deployed or considered.
- Lead a team to maximise network performance by monitoring performance, troubleshooting network problems and outages, scheduling upgrades and collaborating with network architects on network optimisation.
- Management and maintenance of all Networks, switches, routers, firewalls.
- Manage Capacity Utilisation and service delivery by ensuring that Customer expectations and services provided are managed in terms of existing Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Perform cost-benefit and return on investment analyses for proposed systems to aid management in making implementation decisions.
- Negotiate and contract with consultants, technical personnel and vendors for services and products, procuring and managing the vendor relationships.
- Be comfortable to liaise with key clients internationally on IT collaborative requirements.
- Develop and implement IT policies and procedures.
- Coach & build the capacity of the Network and support team members through mentoring and assisting with performance planning & evaluation.
- Collaborate with other departments to identify technology needs and develop infrastructure solutions.
- Assess and manage risks associated with new solutions and tools.
- Help us stay competitive by introducing new technologies that creates an edge in our business.

- **Qualifications and experience**

A degree or National Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Technology, Systems Engineering or related qualification.
- Cisco
- Vendor management and negotiation skills.
- ITIL Foundation Certification
- 10 years experience in IT with at least 3 years at a senior IT Manager Level
- Managing a networking infrastructure environment ranging from 200+ network devices across multiple locations
- Technical writing experience for documenting processes and procedures

**Knowledge**
- Knowledge of data privacy and security regulations and best practices***
